So...I'll just go throw my guitar out the window, alright?

No, seriously, Muris, I need not tell you you're a great player, and your playing fit the backing track very nicely laugh.gif

Gonna upload my take in a couple of days probably smile.gif

Wow Muris. I really like the way you used the melody from the PF song's vocals. What a fantastic example. Now that I hear this, I'm gonna try, to hook the "I need a dirty woman" melody into my solo and embellish on it. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be very tough to get something half as good as what you did, but hey, I can try. biggrin.gif

Sted, that sounds pretty decent really. cool.gif Given the length of this, I think it's ok to do some repeating to establish a hook ...kind of like verse, chorus, verse, chorus like the backing track. Adding some Gilmour licks taken right from the song is great too.

Man, you guys are a tough act to follow. laugh.gif

Ok Outlaw, here's my take.
I hope you like it. This backing track was a blast to jam to since there are a couple of sections that just stayed on one chord for quite a while, you could almost do anything. Looking forward to your feedback and the final mix from everyone's takes!

Thanks Sted.
That's the POD X3 Live. I recorded it dry, and added chorus, delay and verb later. The X3 has dual outputs where you can monitor with all the effects and send anything you want to the board. For this, I just sent the "amp only" signal. ...lot's of gain, backed off on the bass frequencies. This is becoming my "shred" preset. Too bad I can't shred. biggrin.gif laugh.gif I've only had the X3 for a little while now, but I'm working towards having four basic presets: shred, rock, blues, and clean. From there I can turn on and off the effects with the footswitches. The modeling amps are pretty good especially with higher gain settings. I'm still working on getting a clean setting that has lots of "punch" which used to be easy with a real amplifier.
