It sounds like a bad tube or broken volume knob, leave it to the tech definitely.

Something seem wrong with your amp so I'm not convinced there's a quick fix.

Its a pricey repair but you definitly need to take it to the tech to take a look at it ! I'm sure he will be able to repair it..

I think you should look for some other service, 70$ is a lot of money for changing one Marshall knob. I payed ~40$ for mine and they installed original "bumblebee" metal pot from Marshall, not those cheap plastic Chinese ones they install today. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
