HUGE props to our very own BEN (CAEL) STORM for doing a Guest QUICK LICK! He dug deep and pulled out a beauty of a lick based on the Phrygian Dominant Scale. It's a SINGLE STRING lick which alternates between ascending and descending note groups while moving up the fretboard. It's a KILLER LICK!!!
Killer lick indeed! Going to try this one out tomorrow.
It really is a spiff lick. Super job Ben!!
Todd
Another killer take! You are on a serious ROLL!!! This was a really cool like that BEN came up with. Very original and very spiff. It's got a open/single string thing which pulls from many of my previous licks and yet it's all Ben. You do a very good take on it and then improv a bit which is my fave bit. I love it when folks take something and then make it their own.
In other words you just....
LEVELED UP!!!!!!*You are STILL the TOP DAAAAWWWGGG!!!!

Impressive work! This is one of my fave Quick Licks and so much the better that it was created by one of our own. BEN really out did himself. I love how he didn't play it straght but instead made it much more interesting which makes it a bit more tricky. You didn't seem to have any trouble at all!! I can see the progress you are making in adapting to these and it's inspiring. Keep it up!!!!You just....
LEVLELED UP!!!!
Thanks Todd
The best part about this quick lick of course is that it's one of yours!!! It's a very cool like and a great single string modification of the standard single string licks that we normally do here in QUICK LICKS. By reversing the pattern over and over again as you ascend, you require the fingers to adapt very quickly. It's much easier when the pattern moves a single direction even if there are two notes per position in addition to the open string. The way you do it gives it a very unique vibe. Needless to say you played it perfectly!!!

LEVELED UP!!!
There should be more of these! I'm glad I got a chance to review this scale
Glad you liked it!! It's based on another similar lick that is done in minor. You can apply this approach to any scale. You did a great job of keeping it clean and not letting string noise get in the way. Clean pick strikes, solid palm mute and very stable pace. It's got all the bits for a badge up! This is well done and your ready for what's next!

LEVELED UP!!
Lovely lick!!
Here is my take as well.
Well done!!! Solid technique and good pace!! Really well played bud. This can be applied to any scale under the sun. You can do major/minor/harmonic minor/etc. All off them can be built on a single string and run this way.
Nice!!
Todd
Thank you Todd, I appreciate taking time to check out our playing
If you are interested, I have a nice lick that will be a nice addition to your quick licks library.
We are not officially adding to it anymore but I'd love to see your lick! I'd say post a thread about it and share a video and the guitar pro file!
