GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Refx Nexus 2.

Posted by: Sensible Jones Dec 18 2014, 09:59 PM

I sometimes love the fact that, when I'm at my friends Music Store, I find odd little things hidden away in a Store Room or something.
Well, I just found a 2 year old Rompler Synth that he'd completely forgotten about. Guess who's now the new owner of said synth?
Here's an overview of this pretty powerful VST!!
Anyone else using this VST?

Very nice!

I'm looking at various synth vst's and this one is definitely on the list of one to look into!

Thanks biggrin.gif

I used the original version, Nexus 1, not a fan of iLoks and stuff like that. Awesome ROMpler, just plug and play with instantly good sounds. The orchestral expansion in particular are great, not necessarily the most realistic but you won't need to do any additional editing to make them sound good.

Only downside is that it isn't a real synth, it just plays samples. You can tweak them a bit but if you want complete freedom you're better off with Native Instrument's Massive or w/e.

Spiff! IT's dubstep in a box!! A very handy way to add some electro elements to your music!

No worries Chris. There are also a lot of expansion packs available. You can see the list https://refx.com/products/nexus/expansions/
Check eBay for older versions of Native Instruments Komplete as well.

I've just ordered some of the expansion packs to play with. I agree with you that it has limitations, but for just putting an idea together quickly it seems perfect. I also have NI Komplete 5.
I've used Omnisphere before, I really liked it!!
