Sure why not, you can try, and if you don't like the result you can always swap them again. Pickups are relatively cheap and easy to exchange with somebody else.

EMG passive pickups are no good imho! Get active EMGs or passive Seymour Duncans or Dimarzios... What kind of sound do you want from your Les Paul? I agree 101% with that. EMG passives are terrible. The Zack Wylde EMG set is a good option if your looking for that sound. It comes with all parts you need to replace to get the EMG's going. -------------------- Guitars: Schecter Stiletto Classic, Jackson SLSMG, Ibanez RG-380 Japan, Gibson Les Paul Studio

Yes, I agree with everyone else, I've also heard passive EMG's are not great at all, so getting active ones should be something you should consider.
Another thing to consider is getting original Gibson pickups for a more vintage tone, or some modern hi output pickups for metal. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

I will say original PAF's or new-made copies, but active EMG's are a good choice as well!
