Trouble With Amp...

I have currently an Ibanez GRG170DX that I love and have no problems with it, it's price is phoenomonal, and the action's great...

My problem is that in using the Ibanez I can't seem to do artificial/pinch harmonics that well, I tried everything, and noticed that my amp has NO distortion on it at all (really old style Crate GX-15)...

I heard that you need distortion to pull off these harmonics, and I can squeeze some out of the upper frets close to the neck (13 and beyond)...but all I have to work with is gain, and the pickup closest to the bridge of the guitar (near the whammy bar) is out...

Any suggestions (other than getting a new amp, which I have no money for)?

Thanks.

Same here man, get a distortion pedal and practice more on those harmonics. Remember you must be able to pull them out with no extra strength, very lightly brushing the thumb over the string imediatly after you pick the string. Practice in all positions.
