Hi Cosmin,
I'd like to see if I'm holding the guitar properly. I moved my picking hand more parallel to the strings, but the guitar feels a bit uncomfortable on my right leg. Thanks.

Well, you are on the right way - it may feel awkward because you are not familiar with all the motions. Also, it looks like your wrist is not that well anchored on the guitar body - I for one dislike that guitar shape because it feels too small for me, so I am having a bit of trouble on seeing how the wrist is actually placed there. Also, please focus on keeping your left hand finger movements as small as possible.

The guitar is a Steinberger Spirit. Believe it or not; it's actually pretty comfortable. The side has a flap that allows it to rest on your leg. The only problem is I need to pick a leg; when I use my left leg my arm protrudes out pretty far. I have a hollow body electric Gretch as well. Would that be better to use to build my picking technique? Thanks.

Man, theoretically, any guitar is ok, as long as you like playing it smile.gif Experiment! You are coming from an area in which right hand techniques are a totally different animal and you need to adjust to using a pick - so expect a bit of awkwardness in the beginning! I like using the classical position because it keeps my body relaxed - I use the side saddle position when I sing and play, as it allows me to see the neck without moving my head away from the microphone smile.gif
