Beauties! The neck on the first one looks really wide. What is the width? Maybe it is just the picture...

Posted by: thefireball Jul 24 2010, 01:52 AM

Swwweeeeet!!!!! I put the ESP picture as my desktop background! tongue.gif

Cheers!!
On the horizon ... roughly.. 1st fret 4.1 cm, 12th fret 5.1 cm, 24th fret 5.7cm .. It's a round neck.. more of what I'm used to playing but not as round as schecter HR..

Eclipse is thinner neck & a bit wider fretboard..

So both of them compliment each other very well.

I can't ! It's going on to the next page ! Somebody get those HAWT guitars away before somebody breaks their nose smashing against the computer screen! biggrin.gif

Great buyings man!! Both are excellent guitars. Now you have no excuses to don't study and play!! Hahah

Posted by: mhskeide Jul 24 2010, 09:44 AM

Holy cow! Two new ESP at once? If I read about a bank job in Melbourne, I know who is to blame tongue.gif

But seriously, stunning guitars! I love the horizon with the passive pups, I don`t like it with EMG! Same with the eclipse, beauuuutiful finish! I would just have changed to some BKP and get a matching gold cover for them smile.gif

Posted by: Sollesnes Jul 24 2010, 10:07 AM

Wow, they look beautiful! Great buys biggrin.gif
And alex, stop! your drool is getting my post all wet. tongue.gif

Posted by: Fran Jul 24 2010, 01:29 PM

They are both great man, love the looks and I bet they play great too smile.gif

Posted by: Adrian Figallo Jul 24 2010, 05:32 PM

wow.. that eclipse is AMAZING.
wanna get one.

Posted by: Azzaboi Jul 24 2010, 06:17 PM

Those are some sexy axes biggrin.gif
If they play as good as they sound - and I bet they do, you got some beauties there!

Posted by: zen Jul 25 2010, 02:29 AM

Glad you liked em.. smile.gif
Both of em have a distinct feel.. I plan to use Eclipse more for the rhythm stuff (convenient for drop tunings) and Horizon for the lead work.... Horizon will probably become my main axe .. So that's what riding a dragon must feel like smile.gif

Oh and this constitutes my next 3-5 birthdays, Christmas, newyears etc etc .. all together biggrin.gif

Posted by: Marek Rojewski Jul 25 2010, 07:35 AM

You're bought them in a rate system for 10 years?tongue.gif

Posted by: zen Jul 26 2010, 06:15 AM

haha .. worked a lot for em ... in the last 2 years smile.gif

Posted by: maharzan Jul 26 2010, 06:30 AM

laugh.gif Only I know how much I have worked my butt off and saved for em ...

Don't worry, you'll have your Axe-FX soon wink.gif .. i know it... It's just around the corner .. I can smell it tongue.gif
.. Then I'll be the jealous one.

No, I love my Schecter.. Will try to use it for alternate tunings .. Drop C etc and riffwork . It screams smile.gif

Yea, Andy is endorsed by ESP smile.gif but they hand him LTD models .. that kindda sucks.

One of the best necks I've played. Very thin. A tiny bit wide for me but it's gives a good stretch to the fingers.
Very light and versatile axe in my opinion.

I have a heavy and aggressive hand while playin and after switching from Schecter, this almost felt like a toy guitar. laugh.gif
.. I had to be careful not to snap the neck in half !!

The only downside for me is the access to higher frets, which is a bit difficult to play as I'm not used to such LP shaped bodies.
But I'm gettin used to it. smile.gif

Dont have many. But I will certainly post a pic of my first axe. She's dead and buried.
Just have to resurrect it one day to take pics tongue.gif

Thanks man .. Yea, its the same axe.. I love it. The access to higher frets is a breeze.
Try the eclipse, you might instantly fall in love with it. smile.gif .. I did.

Posted by: emirb Sep 3 2010, 09:40 AM

I've had my eyes on horizon it looks so nice and it has all the 'features' that I look in a new guitar (for faster playing when I get there hehe). Zsolt, to be honest, your guitar is the one that got he thinking in the ESP alternatives smile.gif Love this color and yours is also just beautiful.

Sweet .. the custom looks awesome mate !! smile.gif

Zen,

I tried out your model in the store and loved it but I was looking for a fixed bridge. Checked their catalogue online and instantly fell in love with the Custom. The more you play those beautiful works of art, the more you'll love them! Enjoy mate, enjoy. smile.gif

Posted by: maharzan Sep 3 2010, 10:37 AM

As days go by, I am just jealous I cannot buy a new guitar.. sad.gif I see this and I hate zen.

Completely agreed .. Big thanks goes to my good friend NoSkill who is also an ESP freak.
I first saw the eclipse on his vids and instantly wanted to have it.
Yea, I'm still gettin used to both of em. smile.gif The setup on my Horizon may require a little bit more adjustment in terms of action. Just notice it very slightly when im playing high frets. It's a matter of getting used to it too.
I might fix that when i change the strings.
Did you try the eclipse? You might've had a meltdown if you did laugh.gif
I was actually looking for a floater so all my guitars can compliment each other ..coz the rest of my guitars are fixed bridges.

Well.. Yes, You do need a new guitar. But i know you will buy it pretty soon. Hang in there mate .. Your playing is pretty good and that is what matters most.
I waited for 2 years before purchasing these tongue.gif

Posted by: maharzan Sep 3 2010, 11:35 AM

Its been 3 years I haven't bought any guitars... high time I need one that is playable. Good news is I have ordered parts so hopefully in 6 months I can start my new custom guitar. smile.gif

Wow.. custom axe .. Congrats .. Cant wait to see and hear it.

Holy cow!! What beauties! They must have been pretty expensive.

Posted by: JamesT Sep 3 2010, 04:17 PM

Both awesomele beatuiful guitars. Congrats on your purchase man!
I love the matte finish on the Eclipse.

I've heard a lot of good things about ESP guitars, but haven't played one yet. I'll have to get out to Guitar Center and play one sometime, but it might be an expensive adventure. laugh.gif

Posted by: maharzan Sep 3 2010, 05:58 PM

sure zen.. i am making a camel out of some great features of some guitars... biggrin.gif I am not liking the double nut feature as its just such a time waster to tune and/or anything happens to the guitar like now. So, a mix of andy timmons AT100, neck/pickups and SV5470F for tremolo, auto locking tuning pegs.. smile.gif taking a minimal / simplistic approach.. Just 2 pickups like the JS2400.
