GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Classical Guitar Positioning, Which Accesory?

Posted by: btrigorivas Aug 12 2008, 08:34 PM

Hi everyone, i have bben playing classical guitar for a few months, and i cant get used to playing with the footstool, a frien recommended me to get a gitano support, but before buying it, i want to make sure i buy the best thing.
I want to choose between these 5:

All of these are ergoplay but different models.
And my other choices are the gitano, or a little pillow, the one the guy in the following video uses.

Can you help me decide i cannot take a decision.
Thankyou very much.

Try it in a store I say. Don't buy if you don't try it. If it feels comfortable on the first try, it would be good. If it doesn't I don't recommend spending extra money. (I don't know how much it costs).

Also how long do you play with a stool now? Perhaps you need to give yourself time to adjust to stool?

The thing is that i have always had backaches, and i have asked a teacher and when playing with the stool i had the right position, but my back still hurted.

Well, that seems OK mate, don't really know what can be the problem. Did you have backache before you used the stool? If so, maybe the solution is not the stool I though...

Tnaks Ivan for your help, i found the way to go, my friend let me try his support, and it is great, and it doesnt damage the guitars with french polish.
This is the webpage of the support:

It is great, well at least for me, and works for my godin too that has a thinner body and it doest fit in the other supports.
