My guess,there probably using something similar to the technology Vox uses with the Jamvox, only reverse order.

It sounds like someone got hold of the original masters. You can hear some of those mixed without the guitar track for games like guitarhero and rockband. I assume with rockband they also have to have the tracks without guitar.

Perhaps a less than honorable employee decided to make copies?

I saw somewhere else someone mentioned Rockband and Guitar Hero. Perhaps someone managed to rip the guitar tracks from the play disc?
The guitars and drums must be on separate tracks for the instruments to function so that has to be possible I guess.
