Check it out!
Flats are added in this order
Bb-Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Cb
So for example in F we will have only one Bb
In Bb it will be 2 Bb and Eb
Can you write Eb scale?

Awesome! Good job! Now I am gonna show you how to harmonize the scale!
All you need to do is to build chords using thirds!
For example:
C - E - G - B
You got a C major7 chord! Etc.
Here is the system!
Maj7 - Mi7 - Mi7 - Maj7 - Dominant7 - Mi7 - Half Diminished
I would like you to finish harmonizing C major scale and also do G major and F major using the system I showed you!

Hello Alex ,

playing and theory if it is not to much for you , or then playing and next time theory and though on !?

Right now i keep on working on your Van Halen Style lesson and i am myself quiet sure this week to make a good record , i am more into rhythm now - and i like it now to play it for fun too.

Too i exercise your chord picking exercise - its even more difficult to me then van halen lesson.

I am not much into playing with chords -- didn't exercise this before really .

Its a very good training for me !

Today i couldn't be in chat because of family celebration ( in germany mothers day) hope you all had much fun and success.

Have a good time !

Dieter

So to practice this exercise you need to use a metronome and do it at a very very slow tempo when you have a full control over your hands! Break this exercise in to pieces and play one by one! Don't learn the whole thing right away just one piece at a time!
You are picking only the first note and the rest playing legato!
Let me know if you have any questions or need help! If you feel any pain stop immediately and let me know!

Hello Alex ,

G major scale lesson is in ionian mode thats what i right now see kind of standard mode.
I like the melody and its my warmup now .

It is a good exercise for my left hand and i try to push the strings more with feeling and fewer power .

My fingers and hand hurting a bit - but its because i exercise a lot and in between i do some finger stretching exercise or just go for van halen it is not that hart for my fingers.

Is there any active relaxing or stretching exercise tip for my left hand !?

The legato exercise i like a lot too ! Needs more exercise because some tone are to weak - must find the balanced pushing with my fingers.

(Sorry my english - but i think in german and the direct translation word by word is not always the right words in english)

Ok, thank you a lot for your HELP and Energy !

Have a good DAY !

Dieter

Just be careful with your hands! It's better be safe than sorry! so make sure there is no pain!
I will be giving you more exercises! Also it would be really cool if you can make a video of yourself playing those exercises so I can see if you are doing them correctly! smile.gif

Hello Alex ,

i am thinking about studying your Sweep Picking lesson when you agree with that . It is real difficult
to me but i like that feeling of music. I know too that this lesson will take more time even than the van halen one.
dry.gif

Van Halen is still my actually main lesson until i MADE it but beside that i would like to start with a new one too ! tongue.gif

Back to Sweep Picking,

could we try to make a study out of that too - theory understanding how it is build ?

Theory is a bit hard but i should do it - ohmy.gif

and by the way for learning playing guitar and have fun with it and make a bit noise for my neighbors i think about starting the

Rock and Roll Riffs lesson from Steffan - the chords i know and its a good rhythm lesson too , what do you think ? tongue.gif

Though one hard lesson for study and one easier for fun and maybe faster success and kind of Success experience. rolleyes.gif

Lots of GOOD ENERGY to you and the Once around you !

Dieter

Ok Let's start with understanding the theory behind sweep lesson!
It's G major scale
We have:
G - A - B - C - D - E - F#
If we will harmonize it we will get those chords:
G major7 - A mi7 - B mi7 - C maj7 - D7 - Emi7 - F#half diminished
That means you can play any of those arpeggios over the chord progression in the key of G major!
I would like you to harmonize
D major and Bb Major scale using technique I showed you!
Let me know if you have any questions!
