GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ New Artist Channel

Posted by: thefireball Feb 28 2012, 05:37 AM

Hello everyone. I am so excited to officially announce my new music artist channel. I want to use this channel to post original content only, so I can become a partner. However, I will still post on my first channel "thefireball100".

The riff I play at the beginning is my original creation. Here is my http://line6.com/customtone/tone/217666/ I used in this video.

I turned the bass, treble, and presence to the max on the 5150 (Criminal) amp head, the mid at 1 o'clock. The 4x12 Treadplate cab was miked with a 57 on axis. I then proceeded to EQ the crap out of the final mix. I also used Trilogy Bass Module and EZdrummer DFH. Recorded in Reaper DAW.

You are hearing only two guitars playing - panned extreme left and right.
The left channel guitar was recorded prior to the video. The right channel is a live recording.

That's my Jackson SLSMG guitar tuned to Drop A (68 gauge bottom string).

Thank you, Alex! I sure will. It looks like they lessened the minimum requirements to being a partner. I do indeed wanna make money.

Requirements for becoming a partner:
You create original videos suitable for online streaming.
You own or have express permission to use and monetize all audio and video content that you upload–no exceptions.
You regularly upload videos that are viewed by thousands of YouTube users, or you publish popular or commercially successful videos in other ways (such as DVDs sold online).
Please note: all uploaded videos are subject to the YouTube Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.

This is will be no issue for me on this new channel. So, the question is, how long do I wait to apply?

In order to become a partner you need to have 30+K views and around 1000 subscribers
The thing about youtube is that if you have been denied once it will be harder to become a partner so make sure you have some buzz going on before you apply!

This is a really cool topic, and congrats on the new channel! I had no idea about "becoming a partner" and earning from youtube. I knew there were ways to monetize your traffic there, but this has been quite informative. Thanks all!

Indeed, and it will be an adventure to find out what it all involves. Just make sure you own your stuff if you want to become a partner. You wouldn't want to be a target of "copyright infringers" rolleyes.gif They go too far with that stuff (like covers and stuff) so I wanna play it safe with my own creations.

Thanks for the congratulations, man. smile.gif

Thanks to you too, man. smile.gif I haven't really used my keyboard much. Most stuff I program in with my mouse. There's too much latency for me.
