Yo

Here's a sad story ...it's about a guitarplaying nun from Belgium. She lived in a monastery in the sixties and loved playing the acoustic.
But in the sixties she wrote a song that was an international hit...she topped all the charts worldwide and was on the nr 1 in the american charts!
Few people remember this.....
All the profits went to the monastery and it was a lot!! !Eventually she left the path of religion and wanted to pursue her musical dream...so she left her beloved monastery.Unfortunately The Belgian tax agency's wanted her to pay the taxes on her income of the big hit....wich was a lot of money! From that day they kept chasing her for the money
Completely desperate because of the tax claim she decided to re-record her hitsingle in the beginning of the eighties..without succes.

In 1985 she commited suicide because she was fed up with the constant non stopping chase of the tax agency here..she commited suicide together with her best friend Annie....

She never earned one cent of her hitsingle because the monastery collected the profits....but was chased all her life for the taxess on it.....

What a sad situation. That's what enforced guilt can do to people..

The tax office needs a cricket bat to the head. I know in this country and I assume most others, Nun's would be exempt from tax as they don't earn and income, they work for the church and are taken care of by the church.
