GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ 18 Hours After Ordering From Sweetwater

Nailed it smile.gif Make one order and you start getting person to person calls from the sales staff. Doesn't matter what you order. Could be a few guitar picks. "Great choice, you clearly have great taste in gear". They read a script of course and it's just part of the sales routine. Can't blame them for trying, but it sorta stopped me from ordering from them. Not to mention, amazon carries just about everything these days and most shipping is free from them and 2 day shipping is free if you pay for "amazon prime" which is yet another movie/tv/music streaming service about $10 a month that includes 2 day free shipping. The good part is amazon doesn't do follow up phone calls.

Then I'm lucky to have had a good store near my place. The seller first talked to me about my musical tastes before recommending me a guitar. I'm still happy with it 10 years later! The GC I currently make orders in online doesn't follow up with calls or e-mails too. They are just happy to help if you need it and their prices are great too! There's this one store that's probably going out of business but no wonder why. They made my brother buy a very cheap 9m D'addario cable claiming it's one of the best ones. It broke within a week, not mentioning he didn't need more than 3m to play at home. And after seeing how the vendor abused the tube amp I had my eyes on... I just gave up on them completely. Currently I'm even ordering picks online. But it seems this strategy didn't arrive to the GC's in my backwater country yet. Let's hope it never does.

True but ...
I always mention to "Mike", my personal Sweetwater sales engineer wink.gif , that via amazon I can get it with free shipping and he, "Mike", always obliges. Also "Mike" found me a 15v. barrel tip positive TC power supply for a Nova Delay that even TC elecs didn't have at the time. So yeah, I wish they wouldn't call to see if I need anything every two months but the reality is that sometimes I do,
