The new year has arrived and with it new album expectations. Which album's are you looking forward to the most in the new year.
I'm looking forward to the new God Forbid album the most.

The new Morbid Angel will be interesting if they reelase it next year, wich I think they will, but I haven't read anything officiall, maybe I've just missed it.
Otherwise I'm looking forward to the new Anathema, also the new Wolves In the Throne Room that I think will come, at least they are supposed to be writing now, at least I think so from reading some interviews. New Agalloch will crush aswell, and I'm hoping for a new Ulver aswell. Katatonia's new will also be interesting.

Iron Maiden (as it's rumored to be their last :mellow ), Amorphis, Muse, Tenacious D (I can atleast hope they're releasing it within the year..), Sonata Arctica (atleast the rumors says they're releasing a new one) and Chris Cornell =)
And of course Agalloch!!

Well, I'm sure Dream Theater will sneak into the music stores with another great album around the middle of this year.
And I'm waiting for the new Muse album and if Placebo releases something I will happily buy it.
Oh, did someone say Iron Maiden... now that would be awesome

Heathen should finish there album by fall/winter
Atheist should also be done with there album by fall/winter. Long awaited return of this band. I just hope its a rightful continuation, not another Elements

Yes yes... Morbid angel, lamb of god, and one that i have not seen on here yet is the new Slayer... It should be good.. 2009 is looking to be an awesome year for metal... I would love to see a new maiden album, but i definetly do not have my hopes up (i will be more suprised that way if they do)...

iron maiden should have one due
the new halo games soundtrack is also what im after (they always have good music)
blind guardian might have one....

Yeah I talked to muhammad himself at the Florida Death Fest last year about the new album for an hour so, He said it will a step up in technicality and riffing, Oh....And it will be on 7 strings

I asked if It was gonna get any faster, and he said "Well I think we've reached the point where have a good balance between speed and musicality, Any faster and I think the notes will become a single blur"
Its scary just knowing that he can go any faster though.

i dont think they officially said anything, but they have been on a strict 3 year release schedule so this would be the third year since matter of life or death

And i know this is off topic but amon amarts twilight of the thundergod is definately my favourite from 2008 10 times better than death magnetic.

Bieng set on fire and thrown off a cliff is 10 times better than Death Magnetic.
But, Yeah Amon Amarth is awesome.

I think its gonna be pretty good. They have some videos out of the pre-production on youtube thats pretty cool. Either way its gonna be brutal

I'll listen and possibly buy CC's new one but they aren't really on my list of MUST get albums. I like Death Magnetic though, one of the few I guess.
I knew Megadeth was recording but wasnt sure when to expect the album I know at least Metallica took their sweet end time so....
I don't know if Arch Enemy will be putting out an album this year but I'm looking forward to seeing Michael Amott's new Dean (sorry if I'm getting off topic.)

Many great musicians will be participating, and it will be recorded at different locations!
I can't wait to get started, just have to write some lyrics first.. .. .. (help!)
