GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Dunlop Crybaby 535q

Hey boys, whatsup?

I bought a Dunlop Crybaby 535q wah pedal from ebay and received it today. I found out that it needs an 18V adaptor (the pedal is even more specific: Dunlop ECB04 adaptor). My question is: do I really need that exact adaptor or will another 18V adaptor that fits work too?

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Yeah, it has a very long plug.
I'm sure they made it this way so that their adaptor would sell. smile.gif

Hmm I didn't know that pedal works on 18V ?? I though its 9V ? Maybe you should check again ? Anyway , you can get any adapter that fits and it will work..Just keep in mind that some adapters are "stabilized" and less noisy when used with the pedals.

If its the same 535q I got, it accepts 9 volt batteries.... Maybe it's different because it's a European version?

There's an older version that takes 18V. The new one takes 9.
Or if it was the other way around unsure.gif

Mine 535q works on 9V power and batteries. You should check out the manual again or the back side mate. Usually there it says how many Volts.

Looking up the recommended Dunlop ECB04 adaptor it's 18 Volts alright.

.......... just checked jimdunlop.com and it speaks of two versions. So 18V is right.

Hmm I guess than its the older version that ran 18v...If its used and from ebay that figures..But non the less it will work great...It would be a downside if you had a pedalboard chain full of 9V pedals , than you would have to take 2 adapters to gigs smile.gif But that's a cool wah pedal indeed smile.gif

If the pedal is really 18V, probably every adapter should do it. Just check the DC input on the pedal and buy the same mate.
