> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Neoclassical Three-Level-Lesson, Beginner by Marcus Lavendell

I feel that this one has improved over my last take happy.gif

When I normally mix the videos I generally mix it 100% audio from my 11-Rack and 0% from the video but in this case I left some audio from the video so you can hear me switch between pickups just as Marcus does (not that it probably really matters). tongue.gif

Thanks guys!

Hi again Chris!

You're right, this take show improvements and progress compared with the previous one. Your bending is more precise and your vibrato is getting better. There is obviously still work to do with your vibrato if you want to get that neoclassical metal style bending like the one used by Marcus on the original lesson but I can see that you are on the right track.

Another thing that shows some improvement but that still need work is your timing. Once again trip`lets are giving problems on your playing so please work on this to make your playing tighter.

Congrats on the hard work! Keep going. wink.gif

This is sounding better as well. The bending and vibrato are not so offensive now, they're more in control.

The triplets are not sounding like triplets yet.. they're in some purgatory between 8th notes and triplets. They're just happening in front of the beat so that's your nemesis on this lesson!

Fisrt of all I think you need slightly brigther tone to keep some sort of separation from the backing guitars. I woul also take a wa some of the reverb - it makes a lot of mess here. That's a bout the tone. AS for the take - yes it's improved comparing to the last one but still some timming to fix - timming is the biggest issue here i think. Also...when you make a bend and vibrate it, you already think of next note and in result pitch of the note being bent is unsatable. Anyway great to see your progress smile.gif Keep up the good work smile.gif
