Two hybrids, a Fender SuperCHampXD and VOX AD30, the Superchamp sounds all tube, the Vox sounds more solid state. Buying hopefully an all tube soon

I use a Fender solidstate, but truth is I'm not using it much lately, as I tend to play my guitar through pandora and into my computer lately, or headphones when it's late at night.

I use a very basic Solid State 65w Crate Amp. It has clean, distortion, and reverb.

btw wath does faster mean in term of amps? Yeah,I used wrong word I guess, response would be right one. You know, with combo you have few very short cables and everything is optimized, connection wise. With racks and stuff you have a lot more cables, sound needs to go take a long walk before it comes out of the speaker. Less cables=better response, dynamics etc. -------------------- Youtube

I don't have any real amps. Only play with the POD.
I am probably buying a Marshall in the future. But my ideal amp is a 4 channel amp: channel 1 - Fender on cleans channel 2 - Marshall on crunch channel 3 - Marshall on OD1 channel 4 - Mesa distortion -------------------- my "Thank you GMC!" video

JCM 2000 DSL is what you just described Then I shall give it a deep try. How does it compare to a JVM? Cause I tried this one before. I didn't like the OD2 much (but maybe it was more of my bad settings). Cleans were fine, but still not like a fender dual reverb. -------------------- my "Thank you GMC!" video

Then I shall give it a deep try. How does it compare to a JVM? Cause I tried this one before. I didn't like the OD2 much (but maybe it was more of my bad settings). Cleans were fine, but still not like a fender dual reverb. Haven't had the chance to mess with a JVM. However, I can speak volumes about the JCM 2000 DSL. The most organic I've ever owned. That's coming from a old JCM 800 user and lover. The clean channel is the best Marshall has done to date. To get that punchy Fender tone you use the gain and volume opposite how you normally would. With the channel in Classic Gain/Clean Channel you crank the volume and use the gain knob to control your volume. This causes you to get that natural tube compression that Fenders are famous for. In terms of OD and Crunch is pure Plexi and JCM 800. Run the baby through a couple of Marshall 1960 cabs and turn the volume up and it's pure Marshall roar in all it's glory. It's what every modeling amp is trying to produce but the compression of real power amp tubes just can't be duplicated. Plus you can get a mint used JCM 2000 for 1/2 the price of a used JVM. Also the amp has bias test points so biasing and changing tubes is a piece of cake. I use a Peavey 6505+ 100 watt head with the matching 4x12 slant cabinet. Through the effects loop I run a TC Electronics G-Major processor controlled by a Behringer MIDI pedal board. I run my Les Paul Standard (w/Suhr Doug Aldrich pickups) through a Beyer wireless to a Crybaby wah into the front of the amp.

Then I shall give it a deep try. How does it compare to a JVM? Cause I tried this one before. I didn't like the OD2 much (but maybe it was more of my bad settings). Cleans were fine, but still not like a fender dual reverb. It's basically the same thing except without additional features and a couple of sounds. Bad thing with these amps is they all sound different, so you may have heard some model with stock tubes, and it sounds very poor. With hi quality tubes, these amps really turn into great sound machines. Cleans of Fender and Marshall are pretty different, so it will definitely not be as a Fender Dual Reverb - ever. But cleans are very nice and can be bright with a right set of tubes, so they sound great. I actually like JCM2000 cleans more than Fender, don't like that sparkling highs in Fenders. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
