Effects can help a guitarist carve a individual sound. Just curious what others would rate as their 3 most important effects.

For me Crybaby from Hell Wah, MXR Carbon copy delay and MXR Phase 90. However, my 6 band eq and noise gate are always on so maybe I should chosen them.

My three most important effects, with no individual foot petals in mind, would probably be: distortion, echo, and maybe a phase of some sort.

For live i use Mark Tremonti wah and boss delay.
For reverb and distortion i rely on the amp.

Just distortion and dome kind of time based effect, usually delay instead of reverb.

I have no physical effects myself, but in Guitar Rig 3 I love delay and reverb when I play solo stuff, and an occational tremolo when I just play around with chords =)
