The E5 I play is index on the A & D string with pinky on the 4th fret G string and strum all six strings to hear if its in tune or not

Hmmm the very first thing I usually play is either A minor pentatonic at 5th fret or E minor pentatonic at 12th. Usually do not play a chord the first thing, but my favorite chord to play is usually A major sweep at 12th fret.
