Rock n roll lesson - Collection of sins riffs

I am proud to present our first song lesson at GMC. This tune should hopefully be relevant for everybody - as it has material of different degree of difficulty.

The solo will be featured in a new, upcoming lesson!

Enjoy,

This is a very nice lesson and a great song!(great lyrics biggrin.gif )

But i have a question. Kris can you show us some songs from
bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden or other good bands? I mean a note for note lesson for example How to play Master of Puppets. Is this possible?

Hi Edguy,

This comes up fairly often; the answer is that Kris can't do that without paying copyright fees on a paid site like this. For stuff like that, check out his free site, freelicks.net (not sure if it has exactly what you are looking for though)

Thanks for your answer. I know freelicks.net already, but i thought if Kris can do it on freelicks he can do it here as well. I didn't know that he must buy the copyrights to teach this songs.

Sorry for that:)

It has to do with the intent of the site. He isn't charging anyone for the content on the Freelicks site. GMC is a pay site...when you start charging for that kind of content, that's where the issue is. Kris is doing the performance, but you still have to negotiate and pay royalties on the music and the tab. I doubt that Kris is making enough at <$10/month per user to cover costs like that.

That's why the -style lessons are done the way they are. Kris breaks down some of the typical licks and habits of guitarists but is careful not to actually reproduce any of the licks there either.
