hey everyone,
I went to the soundwave festival in Brisbane on saturday. It was an awesome day, I finally got to see Metallica, they are the band that made me pick up a guitar back in 1989 and I now make a living from playing the guitar so I feel I owe them a big thanks. Slayer, Anthrax, Paramore, Periphery, and Linkin park were some of the other bands that played as well but the band that stood out the most was Sylosis. I don't know if any of you have heard of these guys but when I first heard their riffs and solo's I thought, how are they going to perform that live. They are a melodic thrash metal band from the UK and they have some awesome chunky palm muted rhythms and amazing sweep/tapping solos. They pulled it off live!!!!! I thought it was going to be a little sloppy at least but no. They were super tight, didn't miss a single note. Sadly there were only about 100 people at their stage which is not many when there were 50000 at the festival. I really hope that people give these guys a good listen as to me they are the best band that I have heard in a long time. Here is one of their songs Empyreal played live at some other venue, I was too busy picking my jaw off the ground to get any footage
PS: there is some swearing at the start.

Cool video.
I've always seen the name Sylosis. I'll look into them more.
Awesome fest!! Thanks for recommending this band... I'm listening to this song right now and I'm enjoying it! I remember when Bullet for my valentine was closer to this style...
Oh man, yes! I've shared the poster on Facebook for this fest and these guys sound killer - not necessarily my type of music, but hey, it's played darn awesome!
Gee I wish I could have got to this festival. It sold out so quick. A mate from work went and really injoyed it but thought the venue was to small for the crowd. Gee those guys have got some chops and I like how melodic it is but not fully my cup of tea.
It was an absolute cracker of a day
