GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Lesson Request - Blind Guardian / Andre Olbrich Lesson

Posted by: Goliath Nov 29 2007, 09:36 PM

These guys can get pretty epic or just buckle down and thrash. Either way, the lead melody soars over a heavy backing track. Any takers? I know Pavel has an affinity for Blind Guardian...

This would be awesome!

I love BG, I have every album and have been a dedicated fan for almost 8 years now!! This would just be B.A. laugh.gif

I love Andre's playing. I even have an idea for that one so you can expect a lesson on them pretty soon.

This is awesome!!

Fist Luca, now Andre?!?!

Your just going down the lists of my favorite guitarists laugh.gif

I love how Andre and Marcus put together constant riffing and melody going on throughout the whole song. Andre is always the melody guy while Marcus supports him with riffs. Killer combination. Will do one, will do.

You're the man Pavel.

Either that or some Demons and Wizards biggrin.gif Either would be awesome and Pavel shreds the guitar. I've only just joined but he is an incredible guitarist.

Thanks man! smile.gif

I also enjoy listening to Demons&Wizards - simple, heavy and melodic. Please gimme some time and i will make that lesson, i'm quite busy with university right now! sad.gif

I will even break it in 2 parts: something like Andre melodic part lesson and Marcus riffing part smile.gif

Yeah I just dug up this post to post in your welcome thread and say "Hey remember when I asked for a Blind Guardian lesson forever ago" I can see that Kris one upped me on this one.

I'm still in shock.

I saw you on your American split of your Twist in the Myth world tour w/ Leaves Eyes at the Roxy in Atlanta. I know people have already been gushing your praise simply because of your renown but I seriously almost bought a Les Paul after that concert watching you guys perform and I was floored by y'alls sound live. Your sound booth was really dialed in that night. I even bought a Leaves Eyes CD after the show because they sounded so good live, but unfortunately they were much heavier live than they are on that CD.

Well, I am addicted to Les Pauls, so if you want my advice, go and get one, it can't be wrong wink.gif

In your warm up lesson, the first exercise you achieve an almost violin like clean it sounds like. After squinting at your video to see what pickup you were using, my best guess is EMG. M I rite?

Yup, you are right, this guitar is equiped with 2 EMG 81 pickups. It is my main and fave guitar, I love the combination of Les Paul + EMG 81, but I also have Les Pauls with the original Gibson pickups, they rock too.
