There is no need to invoke any kind of pseudo-science to explain this effect. Norman Vincent Peale wrote about this 50 years ago in a book called "The Power of Positive Thinking" - The Secret seems to be a recycling of that with some mumbo-jumbo added. Its not the mumbo jumbo that matters, its the positive thinking, your attitude to life.
