to everyone - great site and spirit around here...
about myself...42..male notwithstanding the nickname...fever can do that sometimes LOL (stemmed from The Aurora - possible myth for a mach 6+ plane but who cares )
me and guitar...instrument I had always wanted to play (piano for 8 years when I was very young) but never got round to it...then John Petrucci comes along with the Spirit Carries On at a time I was grieving the loss of loved ones..
notwithstanding the time that has passed...events (and people) in my life have basically kept me away from the instument 80% of the time...so I guess one could say my journey continues from here...though the last time (3 yrs ago) I nearly had the spirit solo down (alas I never managed to get to the 189478231248 bpm 16 note triplets speed) ..
so it's back to basics for a while...I need to get things in playing order again...
btw.. the student medley rocked....
Rock on.
Welcome to GMC man
Scenes from a memory is one of my favourite DT album.
Hi there man welcome to GMC!!!
Welcome mate
Welcome man, the guitar is certainly a great way to express your feelings and you came to the right place for motivation, that's for sure.
Welcome to GMC mate
Welcome to GMC
Welcome to GMC ! Great to have you here and playing more often now!!
Welcome aboard mate
Welcome. Is the Aurora simply a myth? That kind of stuff interests me, love military aircraft. The capability surely exists to build one, if not fund the program. We've had some real breakthrough aircraft over the years: the XB70 Valkyrie, the SR71, the F117, B2, F22. Who knows? Oh yeah, this is a good guitar-oriented sight also.
Welcome to the site!
Interesting you like all the progressive music
DT it's a great band and that album it's one of my favourites.

Welcome and Rock on..... yourself.

Hi man! Welcome to GMC! That is a great solo and Petrucci is one of my favourite guitar players. You'll find cool lessons in the style of him and also with speed exercises to manage "the spirit" solo.
Welcome aboard man!
