Thank-you Bogdan....
Thanks Ivan, yes i do actually....
What scales/pentatonics should i start learning to start with lead guitar? My maoin goal is to be a skilled lead guitarist, however i am not sure which scales or pentatonics to start with.
huh.gif

Mate, it would be best to check out my Pentatonic Workshop Series from the beginning, and you can start practicing with the videos right away! smile.gif

Pentatonic scale is usually the first scale that people learn when starting to learn anything other than the rhythm, and it's never bad to learn it right away. It's a good exercise for the fingers, and scale that will be with you with years to come! smile.gif

For any additional help, just pop the question - this is what we are here for! smile.gif

Ok i will start there tonight. I have downloaded the tabs and I will commit all shapes to memory. It wont take too long, as I have alot of motivation and my old hands will remember quickly. Anything else I should keep in mind? You mentioned to use backing tracks to really learn the shapes because it gets advanced quickly...will do mate, Thanks

hey Nico smile.gif glad you decided to introduce yourself! Although you should write a new topic not reply to an already existing one wink.gif
Try the introduction thing again, by writing a new topic (see the tab in the right mid-upper corner above the threads and beneath the menu in the Introduce yourself section)

I am a big fan of almost all the bands you mentioned so, let's see what we can start with in order to get you a good lesson plan smile.gif and no, it's never too late smile.gif what can you play on the guitar until now?

Hey man!

Welcome welcome welcome..I'm a beginner myself but a hard working one:) lets compete in here, share bunch of ideas and cool stuff. My suggestion would be begin working on lessons and record and put them in the site so instructers can vote your playing. That's how I began my journey in this site and everyone is helpful. I feel no more alone on my guitar playing. See you around buddy!

Tolga

Hi there, how's everyone going? My name is Jordan and I'm from Australia. I am just picking the guitar back up after almost 10yrs away from it....horrible i know. I had a major accident at work one day and sliced up my 3 main fingers on my left hand and needed plastic surgery to repair them and after 2 years they started coming good again. After that I had to sell my original guitar due toi financial issues and only now have i come into a bit of money and the first thing i did was buy my dream guitar, Washburn N4 (Nuno Bettencourt Sig Model).
I am a bit rusty of course but its coming back to me quickly. I am currently learning the guitar vs piano piece. My aim is to be a solid lead guitarist, be able to improvise and construct solo's. My music tastes are Nuno Bettencourt, Dream Theatre, Avenged Sevenfold.....anything Rock or Metal, but uses emotion through guitar.
I think this site is great, the lessons i have briefly seen are exciting and I can't wait till i can really sink my teeth into the more difficult stuff.
Hope everyone is well....
Hello from australia, Cheers! laugh.gif

Welcome Jordan! Congrats on your Guitar! smile.gif Also congrats on playing again after your accident! That sounds rough. I hope you can join us for the Video Chat Today @ 10PM GMT!

Yes mate, learning the shapes is very important, but take your time, and be patient. Results will come. Memorizing one box at a time is a good way to go, and not get yourself confused. If you need any more help, just PM me, and I'll help as much as possible smile.gif
