Hi Fitschevalerie! Welcome to Gab's Army!
In this thread I will help you to design your guitar routines and monitor your progress based on your guitar goals. At first I will share here some of the info that you sent me to have it as reference: "I've been playing guitar for more than 6 years now. I think I am at a good level for my time of practice, I'm teaching guitar in some associations in Belgium, but I really want to get more precise with my picking. When I go to the studio, I can hear that I'm often making some little errors, which pisses me off soooo damn mush So I would really want to be "perfect" for studio sessions. I can play guitar a lot of hours a day, but lately the motivation has really been down for me. In july/august, i was playing around 30hours/week, now it's way less than that." In order to start our work together, I invite you to share here some recordings to let me hear you playing. I would also like to know some more info about you: - Favorite styles and bands. - What do you know about theory? - Live experience? - Studio experience? Ok, please share here all the info you think that can help me to know you more and to make this mentoring program more precise. I hope that you enjoy your stay at Gab's Army! -------------------- My lessons

Hi mate, thanks for the info and the recordings. Based on your post, you already have a great music background. As you commented on your first message, your main goal is to polish technique in order to be a top level studio guitarists. A studio guitarist required a very tight technique, as well as a good knowledge of theory and arranging techniques on guitar to be able to arrange songs in a creative way. Having a very well trained ear is also fundamental for this work.
One thing that I noted in your recordings is that your tone is not very good. I don't know if this is just something related to this recordings or if it's a weak point, but a studio guitarist always need to have a great guitar tone. During this first week of work toghtether, I think that it could be good to create a routine that covers different guitar techniques in order to start polishing your guitar playing. I was thinking on choosing GMC lessons covering this techniques: - Warming up (10 minutes) - Alternate Picking (30 minutes) - Legato (30 minutes) - Feeling / Phrasing (bending, vibrato, dynamics) (30 minutes) - Rhythm (30 minutes) Please let me know what you think and share here if you have some GMC lessons in mind that fit on this topics.... -------------------- My lessons
