Yeah, I need to get that Wooten book. Too many players have mentioned it too many times to me.
One of the first mods a guy will do on a 'standard' Stratocaster is to convert one of the volume knobs into a dedicated tone control for the bridge pick up. It makes the bridge pkup way more usable. *The first thing I do to any Strat I get is the dedicated bridge pkup vol. cntrl and also add a switch or push/pull pot that adds the bridge pkup into any other combination (neck and bridge on a Strat is very cool tone, so is all 3).
