So, I deliver pizza's for money while I am in school.

A few months ago, I delivered a pizza to a man who, in the background, had a very recognizable guitar hanging on the wall and a drum kit.

I asked him, "Is that a B.C Rich or a DimeBag dean" and he told me that it was a Dean. He then quickly turned around and went inside and came back with another Dean that was signed by the man himself. Curses on me for having an old Blackberry that did not have a camera!

So a few nights ago, I delivered a pizza again to him and when I got to the door, I asked him if he had ever seen the YouTube vids of Zakk Wylde and DimeBag playing together. He said no, then turned around and came back with this Epiphone Custom Shop Les Paul, Zakk Wylde model with orange color and the trademark black rings.

I asked him if I could hold it and laid down some Zakk Wylde licks ( That I learned on the Zakk Wylde solo, thank you GMC. He was impressed)

Then, it struck me. My new phone had a camera! My bandmate could be the biggest DimeBag fan on the planet so I asked him if I could snap a couple of photos.

LOL. I had a picture of how my dumb dog sleeps on my phone too. Did not need to include it. One can delete, if necessary. I dont know how to do it.

But, I am in awe to how much this axe could be worth, if it is an authentic signature.

Wow that's a nice story and a nice guitar. This guy must be really proud to have this in his gear

I would have to encase that guitar. This guy shreds something mean too. As much legato as he used, I could tell that he was heavily influenced by Dime even without seeing his collection of Deans.

Which brings me to another point: Zakk and Dime where such good friend but their styles to me are night and day.

I love how Zakk pretty much picks everything while Dime bag just lets loose with inspiring legato.

For the guy who took these pictures and saw it in person, I do not know why I kept thinking that this was Dimebag Dean but it is really a Washburn?

Did Dime go from using Washburns to Deans? I know Dean went out for a while but they look almost identical. Are they related companies?

Dime was in love with his Dean ML (his father got him one as his second guitar, first was a Les Paul copy) and so he played several models and got a signature. In 1995 the Dean company went out of business and Dime switched to Washburn guitars where he got an ML signature (dime333) and the ML-like Stealth signature guitar which we see in the picture.
In 2004 he hooked up with the reborn Dean company and designed the Razorback guitar months before he was shot. Dean isn't what it used to be though (quality and management wise) and they keep releasing new Dimebag models EVERY year to earn money with his death...

What really kills me about the Dimebag situation is that I have seen close to 16 shows at the venue where he was killed.

It was when I was living in Columbus, Ohio and to call this club a venue would be an exaggeration. I have seen bars bigger than that place and I do not recall ever hearing of band that had anyone of that stature playing there.

I relocated to Tampa, Florida and when news of his death broke, I pretty much imagined the situation and the surrounding. He was just so down to earth that he did carry a bunch of security with him and if there is no one but the regular bouncers near the stage in the Alrosa Villa, anyone could easily get on stage during a performance.

The other great music hall in Columbus was the Newport Music Hall. It was pretty much an auditorium that had no-assigned seating. You bought your ticket and showed up early, you could be 3 feet away from the stage, on the floor.

Best concerts I have ever seen where in a small venue like that. Deftones, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine...the acts that played that tiny music hall were outstanding. I think it burnt down.

He played in that small venue because Pantera broke up and he was touring with his new band Damageplan, who had just released their first album...
