Hey there!

I am happy to announce that the video lesson page now is re-arranged to allow for easier browsing!

This page will now also be updated as soon as a new lesson appears on the start page.

To those of you who want to browse the old page have it here. Please note that this page will no longer be updated.

Also - this new page will most likely be subject to some further restructuring (we want to be able to offer categories based on style: shred, rock, blues etc, as well as level of difficulty). Also some minor bugs will be fixed (singing lessons appear on some places where it shouldn't etc) I hope this won't cause too much confusion.

Kris

PS Thanks for all the improvement suggestions we have got lately - it's awesome to see how comitted you guys are to the future of GMC! biggrin.gif

I don't see the difference... I think putting the lessons in category will be a great idea especially difficulty

I don't see much of a difference either.

In fact, I went to the ONE-ON-ONE lessons and it appears that there is not any type of order to the lesson listing.

For example, it does take me to page 1. Before it took me to the last page.

But on page 1 the first lesson is PART 2 of Randy Rhoads Tapping.
Then next is How To Use A Metronome.
Then next is Pentatonic Scale 3 Diagonal Position Shifting.

How can someone get into tapping if they don't even know the basics?
How can someone do work on Pentatonic Scale lesson Part 3 if they haven't taken Part 1 and Part 2?

Does that make sense? So the Page numbers are coming up in order but the lessons need organzing. Like How to Practice Guitar, Metronome, Power Chords, etc.. In my opinion the lessons should be listed in order from the most basic (how to practice, metronome, etc.) to the most advanced.

This is one of the things I love about this site. Kris and staff really want to improve, they listen and they get the job done.

KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK GUYS!

I agree it can be really confusing and totally overwhelming as well. The search feature is probably the best part of the GMC updates so far because it lets you search for exactly what you want, i do think the videos order could do with some love

Ok a little clarification on what the update is about - this update still doesn't give you any suggestion on which order to learn the lessons. In fact it does only give a different, still messy, order of the lessons.

Also, the "lesson planner" (which we have mentioned earlier) is a different feature which I hope we can show you reasonably soon.

This update
gives you

* Lesson descriptions that aren't under the search box (as opposed to the old lesson layout). So you can see what the lesson is about before entering it. smile.gif

* This update gives you 10 lessons per page, instead of 25 on the first one and then five per page.

* Most importantly (and this unfortunately isn't really something you can see, with the exception that the layout is a little more symmetrical), the lesson list now uses information from the lesson database (just as the search feature does). This means we will be able to adapt the lists to our expanding content in the future.

If you think this update wasn't really worth announcing - please bare with us, we will hopefully be able to show you a brand new way of presenting the lessons thanks to these improvements. smile.gif

Thanks, well spotted - a bug caused by a faulty "date stamps". Hopefully fixed for the 101 section now. smile.gif

I myself think this is excellent as some lessons will appear under multiple categories...

for example...
Pablo's funk lesson is under both "exercises" and "Jazz, country and Blues"
