GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Emir, Your Amazing!

Posted by: Guitarman700 Oct 13 2008, 10:56 PM

Really, you are! i got your album "Sevdah Metal" off amazon, and it blew me away! The whole thing comes together so well, it almost reminds me of the older Malmsteen albums, but without any bad tracks! (and better guitar playing!)
Oh, i wrote an Amazon review too:

"Face Melting metal From a World class Guitarist !

Man, Where to start? Emir Hot is a world class musician, an amazing guitarist, and quite a exceptional shredder. On This, His debut album, he pulls out all the stops. The intro starts in, and the first thing you notice is the tendency toward traditional Eastern european scales and melodies, which, along with his very tasteful shredding, sets this album apart from the pack. I have a natural love of exotic scales and modes in music, so this is a treat for my ears. The guitar playing alone would be enough to sell this album, but Emir has assembled a great group of musicians to play along with him. The vocals soar, the druming is great, and the bass supports the rest of the music very well. An amazing release, from an amazing guitarist!

Favorite tracks:
Skies And Oceans
World Set on Fire
Sevdah Metal Rhapsody"

So, whats everybody waiting for? this album rocks!

I'm getting it from Amazon as fast as possible ^^
I tried to order it from emirhot.com, but my paypal has blocked my card for some reason...

Wow man what I great feeling to read this. I am so glad you like my music. After being in some bands in my country, that CD is my first serious album as a solo artist so I spent a lot of time writing and producing it. The best thing is when I hear that somebody can actually recognise all that and enjoy the music.

Thank you very much

I bought this album today after listening to a few samples from iTunes, and yes, it is pretty awesome.

Skies and Oceans is awesome!

First I've heard of your album (I've been "lacking on GMC forum contributions)... I will certainly check it out (and most likely buy it). smile.gif

EDIT: Checked it out... Even from the previews I can see a lot of influences from other guitarists , but at the same I can see you have a completely original sound of your own. I will certainly buy w/ my new giftcard biggrin.gif. Tomorrow though dry.gif ...

Thank you guys. That's a huge honour to hear you like that music. I tried to show most of my skills on that album. Soon I will finish editing the video for one song and put it on youtube and myspace. We recorded it in Split (Croatia).

Currently I am netotiating the deal with my label for the next album. Maybe next year we'll go for a big European tour. Muris and I will do some pub local gigs in London soon and maybe we can come to your city as a guitar duo. That would be cool, I have never been there.

Posted by: OrganisedConfusion Oct 14 2008, 12:06 PM

Please let me know when you're playing London and I will try and travel down. Nottingham is a great place to play also smile.gif

AHH The good old Guitar Institute in Acton, spent a year there full time in the 90's(Must have been a year or two after it opened as it was still a building site!)I think that was the 1st time I played a Peavey Bandit.
Used to love that cafe around the corner and the pub near there too!Mind you I am not sure Alan liked it when us students turned up for his afternoon lessons reaking of beer and extra strong mints tongue.gif
One of my mates even fell asleep and started snoring in Barrys jazz class!

The Institute has moved to Kilburn. I was the last generation to finish the degree program in Acton. Guitar-X is now in Acton and everything looks pretty much the same. That cafe around the corner is still there smile.gif My favorite coffe in the morning.

Posted by: Noangels Oct 20 2008, 12:08 PM

Cool, were the 1st and the last students to play there in the Acton days:)Yeah that cafe was visited every morning by myself and my mates. Was Shaun Baxter still there when you went?

Yes, on this video "Far Beyond the Sun" he was marking students. Brilliant player but he left. I think he's got his own school somewhere else.

Posted by: Noangels Oct 20 2008, 02:33 PM

cool, got on very well with Shaun. It was the year he made his jazz metal album and every one of us had a pirate copy.lol..he used to jokingly call us b'tards untill I mentioned the fact it didnt stop him getting a copy of my tafolla instructional vid I had at the time!In fact I think he has some country vids of mine too that I never got back
Great player, always loved the rock lessons with him or killminster(sp)they made it all look so easy ohmy.gif

I bought his jazz metal cd a few years ago after feeling guilty!and have the honer of the complete tab for his song baxters brew that he gave to me after I pestered him for so long!He also used to turn his back on us sometimes when he played his trade mark licks(that Amin 7th 12 fret string skipping lick into a D major triad before coming down in a typical jazz lick of his before resolving it with his wide vibrato!)

Shawn is the best guy out there. He used to turn his back to us as well but that made it interesting for ear training part biggrin.gif

Posted by: Noangels Oct 20 2008, 04:32 PM

LOL I called him out about that once saying he always seemed to turn his back to us when he played some of his trade mark licks-and he denied it!Hes like a great impresionist, can copy some ones styles so easily and yet still have his own voice! He told me a funny story about his father listening to his debut album and telling him he played a bum note on it-that was all the praise he got!Realy good album considering he was rushed in the studio so they recorded it so quickly

Hoepfully he will do another soon!
