I just found this phrase by Nikki Sixx funny... laugh.gif

"If you don’t have a banjo and a beard you can't get played on the radio in the US," says Nikki Sixx.

well... this is just my own personal observations. I dont know if you are familiar with twitter at all but I'll try my best to explain my slightly cynical theory....
I follow a few rock stations & rock DJ's on twitter, a few of them have shows specifically where they play new bands. They nearly always tweet mentioning the bands who will be appearing on an upcoming show and they always use the bands twitter name within the post which inturn will get retweeted to all of the bands followers giving the DJ who made the original post ( or tweet ) exposure to ALL the people who follow ALL the bands he just mentioned, potentially getting themselves more followers. Its a great self promotion technique for the DJ or radio station but it will only work if the band has a twitter presence, if the band is not on twitter then obviously there is no retweet to fans of the band and no potential exposure for the DJ.
Some DJ's do this more than others but of the ones I follow I always make a point of seeing how many new bands they mention / play without a direct twitter link........... I cant really remember many!

I dont think its a bad thing, its just something that Ive noticed that certain DJ's always do. I guess the band needs to be kinda decent sounding as well smile.gif

Well , crying about no airplay and making ridiculous statements like that bearded banjo comment sure isn't going to help. dry.gif It is probably more like the Justin Beiber, Miley Cirus and Beyonce types that get the most airplay here.Top 40 kind of music basically.
There are all kinds of music played on the radio here, there are Jazz and Blues stations, Classic Rock stations, Progressive Rock stations, R&B, Pop, Rap, Top 40,Country,Religious, Latin,Classical, the list goes on all according to what the market is for any given area of the country.

What style of music is played on the radio in my country? That's easy smile.gif

The style of CRAP

smile.gif That about covers it.

Radio is mostly just horrid and annoying. They play stuff that I personally find offensive (and I'm not that easy to offend)due to it's blatantness, overly Tpain Vocalized production. But I digress smile.gif

Clarified! Yeah. That moment in which the dj needs help from the bands, then, when they are up, they forget who made them big. mad.gif
