Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Re-amped with Pod Farm's Mesa Tri-axis model.
Getting Muris's tone was quite a challenge. I came close by using EQ to add a peak at 1.6KHz, and then rolling off the highs sharply above 5KHz. Not sure if this is a common technique. For this solo, it seemed to work well, especially to filter out some of the fizz that seemes to be a part of this amp model. As for the performance here, it was tricky to get all the slides into and out of some of the notes. I especially like the "one bend" vibrato notes which add something really cool to this solo. They are hard to get right, but again, I think I got close with this take. I'll keep working on it. smile.gif

Perfect! I don't see any problem in this take whatsoever, everything is played so nicely, with great attention to details. You also put a lot of effort in shaping the tone, and it shows. You score 10 from me.
