Most of the event was interesting to watch. Bethesda surprised me in a positive way (they are commonly trashed by people and I didn't expect much). I've never played Doom or Wolfenstein series but I think I will at some point.

For me, the biggest thing was Final Fantasy VII remake and VIII remaster announcements. One I expected, the other... not so much. But I know Square doesn't butcher their games and I'm not easily impressed but I got A LOT of goosebumps during their panel. I may even consider getting a PS4 to get these because they often keep new games console-exclusive for a while.

With FF III up to X-2 (as ports) available on Steam, I wish they added games I and II to the mix. I've played them before and I'd love to give it another shot!

What are your thoughts?

Was just about to post the new FFVII Remake trailer in a topic of it's own when I noticed this thread:

Can't wait!

You can tell Square put a LOT of love into this one! smile.gif Most of the old models were improved for Crisis Core or Dissidia 2008 or 012 but I imagine they made the Remake's models from a scratch to make sure it's a real high quality. I'm with you on this one, can't wait for it!

I can't wait to rent all these new titles!!! It's been a bit of a dry spell on the REDBOX front. They have backed off on games a bit. I'm guessing people would rent four or five games and then just keep them and cancel the credit card used to rent them. As a result, it's gone from 30 games to 5 games for PS4. If a game is just amazing, after a weekend of play, I'll usually buy it. If I can complete it in a weekend and will have to wait months to get the next DLC I'll just turn it back in.

It seems like REDBOX is something that only happens here in the states. I guess there are no such things as game rental kiosks in the rest of the world? Anyone outside the states ever see a game rental kiosk?

We used to had films/games rental kiosk here in Portugal. But at least in my zone they kinda got killed by the internet. and Netflix kind of services.

Yup. Rental kiosks have been gone for about 10 years here, I think.

None in Poland but the used market is pretty big. I will most likely get back to World of Warcraft and variety gaming post-graduation and see if I can make a living as a streamer, so I'll probably stay in PC market. With that said, I can only hope the titles I'm interested in will get a ported version eventually.

Thats amazing that we are the only country with GAME KIOSKS? They rent movies as well, but I never rent movies that way. That's what the internet if for smile.gif But for someone with a game console, PS4/XBOX, getting games over the internet usually means paying full price for them. E.G Going in to the sony store on the PS4 and buying games. It's crazy pricey. New games can run $100. Which is nuts IMHO when I can rent the game for $3 a day.

The only game I "bought" recently was Destiny 2 because it promised a year long string of cool add ons and such and it was on sale in the sony store smile.gif

I'm not going to pay retail prices for games. Just not going to do it. I would rather spend money on gear so games need to be cost effective thus the rental kiosk. I may go back to gamefly.com as that's the only other way to rent games that I know about. They have reduced the price a bit. It's by mail. one game at a time is $16 a month.

So you guys with game consoles, you buy all your games?

The two cases when I bought the new game was Witcher 3 GOTY and Danganronpa V3. I usually wait until the games are on sale a year after the release.

I'm fairly sure I got Destiny 2 for free when Activision-Blizzard was doing a giveaway but their games don't even share servers for different platforms. I didn't check the game but I hear it's sort of instance-based FPS.

I buy all my games, and I probably buy too many! Especially as I have about 20+ games through the years that I have started and that I need to complete. Been trying to work my way through Final Fantasy XV (15) last few days. Not that far into it yet.

I got out of the habit of buying when redbox (kiosk) came along and now I just joined gamefly.com!!
Gamefly.com is a game / movie rental web site.
