Well done, the issue is resolved I take it. Please discuss the thread originators topic - No hijacking. Genres of metal can be suitable for a friendly discussion in another thread.

Anyway, I have to say im extremely pleased with the new album. The guitar tone is a bit fresher, and i was thrilled to know Christopher Amott came back in, i love his soloing style, and the way it compliments his brother, Michael.

My favorite songs have gotta be "Blood On Your Hands", "Revolution Begins", "The Day You Died", "The Great Darkness", "Vultures" and "Night Falls Fast".

They aren't Death Metal. Nile are Death metal, Death, Possessed, Pestilence, Carcass.

Arch Enemy are not Death Metal in any form.

Gotta agree with you there. Not saying they are bad though.

Edit: guess i joined this little discussion a bit late, ignore me.

I actually like her vocals, and it's not just "cause she's a girl"

Wow.. Well, I agree that Melodic Death MEtal has nothing to do with other forms of death metal, but you don't have to sing about death to be a death metal band. That's just a fact.

And, I clicked the link and watched that video, I had forgotten how horrible Angela Glossow's vocals were, and well. I don't wanna bash her too much or anything, and I know it's a matyter of taste, but I have not heard something worse than that. It is only me or is she getting all that attention since she's a girl?

No man, i also hate her vocals, i just cant stand them, same for the same type of vocals. None the less, she is hot tongue.gif biggrin.gif

I never really liked Angela's vocals or Arch Enemy in general. I never found anything "OMG" appeal to them. Johan was a better singer for me but still doesn't change anything for me as more than a casual listen.

How did they became so popular anyway? is it because of Angela in general?

I dont think it was because of Angela, They caught some flak in the beginning with her in the band, and didnt make it to there current popularity (at least here in the states) until Doomsday Machine, there second album with her.

Its just a different opinions, i know a lot of people that dont like the vocals, but like the music, maybe thats it?

Either way, ive been a fan of them for about 4 years now, and i cant get enough smile.gif

I'm a big fan of Arch Enemy, but I do prefer the 2 first albums she did with Arch Enemy the most though.

In my ears, the songs on the 2 last albums tend to sound alot alike.
