Does that really help anything? it must, but what? Is there a noticeable difference? Herman Li mentions it in the video below at 2:48. Is it only because the trem was modified?

Some guitars need it, because the bridge resonates so well with the guitar. In one of my guitars, the note E resonates throughout the bridge, and can be a real pain. To fix, I put some foam under the springs. Problem fixed smile.gif

Ah. I suppose if my RG needed something like that, I would know it.

On my PRS C24, I used to think it had built in reverb or something tongue.gif until I put felt under and around the trem springs. Fixed the problem right away. cool.gif

It's a good idea... I had a similar problem in my Ibanez Rg 520. It's curious the modification done to use his right hand to pick up his guitar when he is playing in the higher frets.. this means that he can only do legatos when he is using it... doesn't he?

I wonder if I should try putting something in my RG. But you would think if it needed something the factory would have done it? huh.gif

If you needed it, you would know. It usually only occurs with higher quality instruments, and no, the factory would not add it.

Yeah I had the same problem with my strat, I put heat-shrink tubing inside of the trem springs to dampen them just a tad.
