I'm confused

When he puts the A Minor Pentatonic scale in tab form it shows to play the E 6th String on the 5th tab, but when I tried to find out where he was starting out from on lesson 4 and started counting the scale (as in E open, so that means first fret would be F, second fret would be F#, third fret G minor, etc). I didn't get the 5th fret at A, I got the 5th fret at G#. So am I counting wrong?

on the low E string

(zero fret: open string, which is E)
1st fret: F
2nd fret: F#
3rd fret: G
4th fret: G#
5th fret: A

So if you start the minor pentatonic box from these frets you get F, F#, G, G# and A minor, respectively. smile.gif

What happened to the Gb and the Ab?

Is that what's gonna happen with the rest of the strings? Where you dont count the flats?

I don't know what exactly this is about but he mentioned F# and G#. That's the same as Gb and Ab

If you start with E note here is the order of notes :

E F (or E#) F#(or Gb) G G#(or Ab) A A#(or Bb) B C(or B#) C#(or Db) D D#(or Eb) E

If you remember this you will have no trouble learning notes on all strings !
I hope that helped you smile.gif
