Death and Obituary, long live Florida style Death Metal!

you should listen to Atheist, really great tech death from the late 80's. Also from Florida. \m/

Posted by: The Uncreator Mar 9 2007, 01:21 AM

Ah, of course i listen to Atheist!
they are fantastic

Posted by: Robin Mar 9 2007, 01:55 AM

Atheist is EXTREMELY great! Piece of time, oh my (excuse my language)fucking god its so fucking great, seriously. not many people listening to them it seems, they are just fucking great! again, excuse my language, using strong words when I feel strong about something laugh.gif Btw do you listen to Bathory? My favorite black metal band.

Posted by: VinceG Mar 9 2007, 08:04 AM

Yea, Ive seen some recent photos of them touring and it seems like Kelly cant play guitar and growl anymore. What a shame. But it doesnt stop me from getting tickets to there last show in Chicago. Bathory is awesome as well, there albums from self titled to Hammerheart are my fav(especially Hammerheart). Oh yea some kid came up to me the other day and just screamed out Job for a Cowboy rules to me because he got confused the Goat from Self Titled Bathory to some shitty mallcore band.

Are u in to 80s music like me. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif
What about bands like Guns n' roses(paradise city) Twisted Sister( I wanna rock) quiot riot,
Slash from Guns n' roses(my favorite) ummmm........ Bon jovi ( pretty good) an many more

Oh yea do you know Iron Maiden's fastest solo in a song? I listened to it w/ my friend but forgot the name.
Give me a hookup if u can please biggrin.gif

Posted by: The Uncreator Mar 17 2007, 06:51 PM

Iron Maidens Fastest Solo?
Hmm, i'd have to think about that, Mercenary on Brave New World is pretty fast. and as for if i listen to 80's music, of course i do, Guns N' Roses, Winger, Extreme, Whitesnake, Motely Crue, and of course the other stuff like, Anthrax, Metallica, Helloween, Megadeth, Exodus, Testament, Slayer, and the early Death Metal Scene as well.

Posted by: Robin Mar 17 2007, 07:51 PM

Caught somewhere in time solo is kinda fast I think. awesome solo, it lasts really long. though speed doesnt matter and maiden usually dont have super speed in their solos, like yngwie etc.

Posted by: The Uncreator Mar 18 2007, 12:48 AM

Yeah maiden dont usually play super high speeds. but Murray does do some legato that is like at 200+ bpm easily, especially live.

Yeah he's crazy with his hammer on/pull offs tongue.gif

Posted by: The Uncreator Mar 18 2007, 01:51 AM

Yeah his legato is amazing, its as if his fretboard were butter, and all his fingers were Hot Knives. impossibly smooth, just love his style, one of the reasons why he is my number 1 favorite guitarists

Posted by: Robin Mar 18 2007, 02:03 AM

yeah I guess thats the best way to describe it. looks like he is just slighty touching the fretboard softly, he's amazing.

Posted by: The Uncreator Mar 18 2007, 02:39 AM

And, i most certainly cannot forget, his "Slow" solo style, like the Nomad, he has such feeling and emotion and atmosphere in his playing, man he is just so good all around, and team him up with jancik or adrian (Especially Adrian) and its even better

Posted by: Robin Mar 18 2007, 03:07 AM

yeah, dude, Strange World. Jesus thats totally crazy man. Strange world is also awesome on bass, awesome song overall tongue.gif oh and charlotte the harlot, phantom of the opera, powerslave. totally awesome solos tongue.gif

Posted by: The Uncreator Mar 21 2007, 08:50 PM

Yeah, i couldnt agree more, epsecially Phantom Of The Opera, one of the first maiden songs i attempted to learn, still one of my faves. the bass in that song is so cool, hell all steves bass lines are awesome, His style reminds me of a warhorse charging into an epic battle.

God i love maiden

Posted by: Robin Mar 22 2007, 01:24 AM

Yeah man, in the old days every song was a freakin bass solo, not just random crap but really awesome melodies with a very unique harris style, in my opinion the best bass player of all times, many other people says that too actually.

Posted by: Robin Mar 22 2007, 02:50 AM

Ok, I take back that I said that the 80's were better than the 90's, I'm listening to Chains of misery right now, oh my goodness its atleast as good as the 80's, futureal, judas be my guide, no prayer for the dying etc. etc. man, my love for maiden just got revived! Been a while since I listened to it active.

Posted by: Gren Mar 22 2007, 03:46 AM

Metal for the win man! Suprized you don't have In flames on there, absolutely my favorite band, along with COB, and, of course, I listen to Iron Maiden too.

God the solos on Judas My Guide are freaking sick. i love them so much.

And about the in flames thing, well i never got to much into them, never clicked for me, But i do love COB, seen em live twice.

Posted by: Robin Mar 23 2007, 02:00 AM

Heh indeed, I'd rather listen to Britney Spears than In Flames, not joking.

Posted by: The Uncreator Mar 23 2007, 02:10 AM

Wow

Just Wow.

Posted by: VinceG Mar 23 2007, 06:12 AM

In Flames used to be a really sweet band. They were one of the first one with that Sweden Melodeath Gothenburg sound to them, really catchy riffs. They are famouse for having simplistic riffs but damn well catchy. I love there stuff from Lunar Strain to Clayman but after that is just mallcore trendy bullshit music. I dont even know how to respond to listening to brittney more than In Flames, have you heard there early stuff Robin?

I like Lunar Strain, but everything after that is totally bullcrap, imo. But Lunar Strain isnt "really" in flames, it doesnt sound anything like the rest. It sounds very blackmetalish actually, and they got a nice vocalist there. But nah, I think the rest is so extremely crap that I want to throw up every time I hear it. I actually was a in flames fan some years ago, so I know what I'm talking about. I'm not like those people who says that, for instance, black metal is crap, because they have never really listened to it.
But of course, it's all about music taste.

Indeed. Good that you havent, WoW is a prison.

I have a few friends who sit around and play it for like 5 hours a day and i always say "How the hell can you play it that long?"

And then they always say

"How the hell can you play guitar that long"

And then we got caught in some sort of verbal paradox.

haha what an idiot. I used to play all day long aswell, I hate that game now, complete waste of time.

Posted by: The Uncreator Mar 26 2007, 06:33 PM

Oh man, have you ever heard of Runescape?

Oh my god, for the past 3 years, one of my friend has been playing that ritualistically, but he doesnt do it 5 hours every day, although sometimes when theres nothin to do, he play for like 12 hours. I dont know how, you cook, farm, clean, fish, do chores, and when you go to fight something, its really slow. and he thinks his arms get "Exercised" when he plays PC Games.

I always make fun of him for it.

oh yes, I've heard of it smile.gif It's like a crappy free version of WoW. Games with levels, where you can improve your character etc. those are evil games! tongue.gif To get somewhere you need to play all day long to get better gear and stuff.
The only game I play at the moment is Counter-Strike 1.6, jump maps laugh.gif and thats like maximum 30min every 2-3 days. But guitar is the ultimate "game" for me tongue.gif

by the way, have you heard Burning Ambition by iron maiden? It's on the "best of the b'sides" CD's. It's been a couple of years since I heard that song, dude its the best song EVER! laugh.gif

Posted by: The Uncreator Mar 28 2007, 12:43 AM

Yeah i got it when i bought the maiden boxset a few years back, it is a great song, dont think it should have been a B Side. Definetly should have been on the album.

Posted by: Robin Mar 28 2007, 01:41 PM

Indeed, man when the verse starts, thats so awesome.

Posted by: The Uncreator Mar 28 2007, 02:41 PM

biggrin.gif Yeah i usually end up hitting a hole in my wall or something.

Concerning the whole WOW Thing, i do play some games liek that, Im a huge final fantasy fan, ever since my dad bought me final fantasy games as a kid i loved them, but i only allow myself to play for a certain amount of time with games, the only time i play for long periods of time is like....last week it was raining, stuck at my friends house, and we were just chilling and played the Halo 1 and Halo 2 story thing to kill time.
Other than that kinda situation, i dont play very long or often. Guitar rules my life!!!

Yeah of course, games are great, but games like WoW requires several hours every day to get anywhere tongue.gif

Posted by: The Uncreator Apr 4 2007, 02:09 AM

Thus why i dont play them, those hours are spent behind my ibanez, shreddin away!

Posted by: BalysLTU Apr 4 2007, 08:30 AM

Ah, what a pitty. I recall those years when I was a gamer (like 4 years ago). Until then I had great life, friends and everything biggrin.gif Used to go outside every day for like 12 hours. But one day (when I was bored) I was surfing miniclip and found the game called Runescape. I gave it a shot but it seemed like a stupid game, but after a couple of hours I gave it a shot again and liked it. Then I spent like 2 years playing that stupid game day after day after day and as u know it I lost interest in my friends n stuff. I stopped playing that stupid game 2 years ago and just started beeing a full-time surfer (of the net biggrin.gif) because my friends took the wrong road (started smoking, drinking, beating people up for no damn good reason etc.).

After a year I discovered that my classmate went to the Yamaha guitar school. I asked him the number of the chairman of the school. He gave me it, I gave them a call and so began my guitar days. I bought my Vintage v300 acoustic guitar and began practising... the wrong way. After another year from me discovering guitar (like 3 months ago from now) I bought my Cort G250 and started going to a music school and practising really hard. My teacher has like 40 years of guitar playing experience. Hes so phat biggrin.gif

Now I look at those days as... I dunno... Medieval times of my life? The Dark Ages? Because those 4 years of my life was a complete waste of time.

P.S. Damn, I wanted to post a post about WoW and ended up posting a post about my life biggrin.gif laugh.gif

I lost interest in games and stuff liek that because i started to play guitar, i still play them every now and then, especially final fantasy, hell, final fantasy has some of the best music in it, so theres an added bonus.

Posted by: VinceG Apr 5 2007, 05:57 AM

hah im like that too uncreator. I lost interest in games because of guitar. I play sometimes but mostly sports game especially fight night round 2&3 and Winning Eleven 8 soccer, such a sweet game.

Posted by: The Uncreator Apr 5 2007, 12:25 PM

Most of the time for me i play them when im taking a break from guitar (wrist pains, arm pains ect..) or after school sometimes to kill and hour or so me and some friends will mess around on them something.
