Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Alternate Picking - Thirds by Muris Varajic

Hey GMC, I'm Terence from Germany and this is my first Rec for gmc.net. I registered a few months ago and got Cosmin Lupu as my personal trainer. Finally I made it to record my first exercise (sry for the poor quality) I'm playing for around 6 years now, but I had some long pauses in it due to a lack of motivation. Since i sorted this out i'm hotter than ever :) So give me your honest Feedback on this one plz :) greets, Terence

Hey and warm wellcome at the REC zone! smile.gif

Your enetring take is very nice smile.gif You have a defined tone and a pretty good punch from the right hand. I cought only a few moments of timming issues and a few moments where notes were not separated enough. Watching closely I see no obvious reason for this. It could be a case of a bit more practice to feel more comfortable at thoses hard points. I know that those moments need extra attention.

Anyway by this take You just show You already got some nice skills to handle many cool lessons at this site. Congratulations smile.gif

Hi Terence!! Congrats on your first REC take! Let me say that the video and audio quality are really good and that you did a good job with this lesson. As Darius said, there are some moments where the timings issues become notorious and I also think that you are not still comfortable with the tempo but you'll master this one soon. Keep on the hard work! smile.gif

Howdy and welcome to the REC zone Terence!

What an entrance! biggrin.gif I think you did a pretty good job and aside what Gabe and Darius already spotted, I would just like to ask if you are a bit tense while playing? Also, your right hand movements seem to be a bit too large. These may be the things that cause the little imperfections mentioned by the guys smile.gif The good news is, it is all solvable, by spending a little bit more time with the lesson and focusing on being relaxed and moving the right hand less. All done at slow speed and keeping the spirit all the way through real time speed wink.gif

Keep rocking!

Cosmin

Hallo Terence, welcome to the REC Zone !

This was a great first entry. Your hand synchronisation is very solid. Your alternate picking also seems consistent.

Just a few moments neat the end where some of the notes almost didn't ring out properly but you just kept it together. Well done !
