Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Pop Punk by Gabriel Leopardi

Hey guys, this is my first rec take in months I guess...I'm getting rusty  Anyway, I'm lately more into punk again, so I learned this cool lesson...and for a change, I recorded it standing up. Not really comfy with it yet... Cheers Christian

Hugh Hefner of Germany !! This rocks ! cool.gif

Another classic tune from Gabriel (how does he do it ?) and you do it justice smile.gif Your timing was very good.. the thing that I wasn't a fan of is the tone preset you're using. I don't think it helps you make things sound clean and crisp. It's quite a lazy and muddy sounding tone.. is it software ?

All good ! cool.gif

Practicing standing up is quite different than sitting,as you know, but you have a good attitude! Good take! wink.gif

Rocker take man! You did a very good job. smile.gif
The only two things that I would say is that the timing could be a bit more precise (it seems that your right hand need more training to play all those down strokes) and the second thing is to improve a bit your tone (As Ben said).
Keep on rocking! wink.gif

Nice smile.gif Very cool take! I think you pretty much nailed it. I"m guessing your pick hand starts to actually get a bit tired toward the end of the tune? This sort of thing can cause a bit of drift in your timing. I'm guessing you played this quite a bit though and your hand was understandably a bit worn. Good power, and attitude on this which is critical for playing a punk tune!

Sounds very good, and played properly. In general, I think you need slightly tighter preset, and a bit less gain. This is important for your rhythm work as well. The hand is moving well, but it needs to be more tighter. The attitude is proper, and you keep a steady beat until the end, which is good to see/hear.
