I just read this on Tolek's mentoring discussion with Muris.

"BTW, I have to tell you 2 great things. First, Kris allowed me to be an instructor and student (in order to participate in the MTP, collaborations, etc.) at the same time. I want to be instructor because I want to get some money for my university years. Second, I think I found my university: BIMM Brighton smile.gif Guees who´s a teacher at this school? This mister. laugh.gif"

Please tell me more about it Tolek - when do you start with lessons if its true? smile.gif

First, it´s cool to read that you follow my MTP discussions. smile.gif
And to answer your question: Kris allowed me to apply as an instructor and to be still a student in order to be involved in the MTP. I applied, but he didn´t accept me. My video quality wasn´t good enough, I think. He said that I had to be better than the actual classical lessons because the demand isn´t very big. I´ll apply in future maybe.

No problem Tolek, you know I follow progress of all members here smile.gif It was really surprising when I read that paragraph. For a moment there I taught you got accepted and wanted to check what kind of lessons do you plan on doing !

No rush, you can apply again in future, keep improving the quality and content - good luck man !

Thanks, Pedja! smile.gif First, I wanted to buy an acoustic guitar (with steel strings) which has an cable output in order to have better audio quality. What guitar up to 400-500 € do you recommend? Another possibility would be to buy a mic to get better quality, but I think the first option would reach better results, right?

Sure thing Tolek !

I don't think you need new acoustic guitar. Check out Gerardo's lessons. He does them with some mic. It might be worth finding out what that mic is smile.gif
Another thing is - are you happy with your acoustic sound ? If you are not, then it will definitely be worth getting a new one for lessons !

Doesn't necessarily have to be so smile.gif

If you want good sound you need a good condenser mic, the difference in sound is huge when having one. I recommend Rode NT1

As Pedja and Ivan say, getting a good mic can help out a lot smile.gif

I recommend this: SE Electronics GM10

Attached Image

The GM10 boom clips onto the body of the guitar itself, so you can be be jumping around the room and the mic stays in place – positioned in the right place on the guitar body. And it gives a full, rich tone smile.gif

I'll post some clips in a few days if you're interested..

Second, I think I found my university: BIMM Brighton

I have a few friends that went to BIMM. I was considering it myself until I found another course that was better suited for me, but I think they'd recommend it. I think you have to be the sort of person that will put in a lot of practice while you're there and really participate for it to be worth while, though. I think a lot of musicians go there and then don't do any actual work and it doesn't help them. I suppose it all comes down to practice in the end, but I imagine the encouraging armosphere helps.
