No matter how hard I try i feel like being modern is something not natural for me...You djent etc. What really flows through my weins is...mostly the 90s style of playing. This is something I feel most natural with and something I could....make 10 songs per day tongue.gif So...that's why this demo came it this way smile.gif

How do You feel...which period of guitar playing had influenced You most ?smile.gif

You made guitar presentation video look and sound brilliant. Also I liked how you placed those clean bridge tones just like in a real song, not like an ordinary youtube guitar video. I.e. here's clean tones, here's cruchy tone blah blah...not a boring way, you know what I mean smile.gif

wonderful

It seems most people are moved by what they listened to as they entered adult hood , and that seems to stick to their core no matter how their preferences change thru the years . For me it was the eighties , raised in the LA area , going to the Strip( Sunset, as in Hollywood), watching up and coming bands. I have enjoyed many styles over the years but it seems I never grow tired of a good old metal tune.

Did you ever tell us who you sold your soul to , to play and mix like that

Congrats for another perfect demo smile.gif Looks and sounds amazing!!!!
This guitar seems to be totally different than Hufschmid Helldunkel Sapeli. Definitely I like more this one. Her sound fits great with my taste wink.gif

WeePee - thanx man! I tried my best and spent a lot of time on this one. I know what You mean - people do not like talking on demos and do not like pointless random playing as well. I made a few differetn type od demos through last few years and I have to agree. Thank You for kind words! smile.gif

jstcrsn - I would never call it better - "stick to their core" smile.gif That's exactly what happened to me smile.gif I have sold my soul to guitar if You ask biggrin.gif

Monica - thanx! Yeah - that guitar sounds briliant to me. In one of the mails Patrick called it "the ultimade metal machine"...seems he was right...but it sound great with a warmer tones as well. solo tone in the demo is actually not that metal... smile.gif

It is a bit weird but I always felt I was mostly influenced by oldies and evergreen music. 50s and 60s era.
I grew up listening to Elvis and especially the Beatles as well as other artists of the era. I didn't listen to 90s music, rather exploring "history" of rock n roll and being totally fascinated with it. I never really got to play that kind of music, but I always had it at the back of my head as some kind of benchmark or something I was aiming for or envisioning when composing. For example that kind of strong vocal melody (Beatles like) was always a benchmark for a vocal melody I'd consider great.

BTW - amazing playing in that video Darius! smile.gif

Thanx Bogdan!

80s and 90s were definitely years of guitar. I think I would also feel less conected to those if I was a bass player tongue.gif From the other side...guys like Marcus Miller have a lot of great live recordings from that period smile.gif

As jstcrsn notes - most of us are drawn to the music we grew up listening to and into our early adult life. And/or what made us want to play music.

The period you were born into has a tremendous effect on how you 'hear' music (and view art in general - books, movies, etc.). I was talking about this recently with a couple of friends. One guy about 10 years older than me mentioned how bands like Cream and the Yardbirds completely changed how you can make 'pop' music. For me, being born right into that time and hearing pop music with the influences of Cream/Yardbirds already in it - I think it's totally normal and natural. I understand intellectually that yes, they were very influential and revolutionary but it just sounds like 60s pop/rock to me.

The sentence "feels natural" is the key looking at your responses. Something that "feels right" when trying to compose etc. That's why I do not dig modern djent etc even though I liek to listen a bit of it. Fortunately some music genres doesn't change that much and modern artist keep searching for that vintage tone and composition style
