GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ New Epiphone Collection!

Posted by: Marshmall0wz Mar 4 2008, 11:59 PM

Hey GMC I was just checking Epi's site as I do every couple weeks and this popped up. It's a new BEAST collection of guitars from Epiphone under the name "the prophecy collection". It sounds pretty cool but I'm a gibson person so I wont get one. But still check it out! Also it appears the models come with either EMG/Epi actives, or GIBSON pickups. W00T laugh.gif hahahahaha

ROFL

I guess that Gibson got sick of ESP stealing their body styles then cornering the market on metal style Gibsons.

The guitars look tasty, and there's a Floyd Rose on a GIBSON!

They released a new "Speedtaper" neck which means the days of the baseball bat les paul neck are finally done! Huzzah!

I'm not sure about the 24 fret in 24 3/4" scale set LP's, which will probably have the same accessibility issues that the EC series of LTD guitars has, but a 24 fret SG and Futura is awesome.

I wonder how much these puppies will end up costing?

Very cool maple caps and colors though.

This is the most excited I've been about a gibson guitar besides the robot!

yeah they're going for around 600-700 bucks. But the dirty fingers pickups make it worth it, But.....they aren't american made.....I'd go to a store for one not online. yeah the sg looks really awesome.

The futura actually has me pretty excited. The speedtaper neck has a satin finish and 81/85 Those dirty finger pickups sound like what Schecter does with those Duncan Designed ones they throw in all their guitars, or the JB/Jazz combo that's tapped on the C-1 Classic. I definitely wouldn't mind screwing around with one of these for a bit.

SG Custom Gx... wow!, beautiful guitar.

Only thing I don't like is that they put the input jack on the side instead of the top of the guitar, but it's ok I guess.

Epiphone Les Paul must be an amazing guitar. But I've heard it's so heavy on your back when standing :/

Yeah, they are a heavy guitar, but you really get usta it within a day or two I'd say. HUGE difference in weight between my LP and Ibanez, that's for sure!

One thing is your comfort, but the health of your back is another.

Just buy a Gibson Zakk Wylde LP like I did.

It'll treat you better.

Still waiting for it to get here though.

It depends on the model and the parts used to build it.

I pretty much did that with my Strat last week. My dad and I got everything except a body (used the body from my original Strat) and built a custom Strat. Still a bit pricey though. The neck itself can cost a fortune. Well the one I got could have but luckily I found a brand new Fender maple neck, American man none the less, for a good price.

You live with your dad and got a Gibson Les Paul, a custom-built Strat... What the hell?
