Are there any lessons that pertain to helping on rhythm?

I am looking at Gab's Progressive Metal lesson and I do know how to read the music, but rhythm has always been a weak spot of mine (playing wise) and I could really use some help with it.

Thanks!

I think this would be an appropriate topic to post this:

there have been a lot of requests about harmonics and rhythm guitar - and today i came up with a cool idea incorporation it all - metal rhythm, artificial harmonics and natural harmonics! So expect a lesson in a couple of days! smile.gif

Hey Aib234 -

One thing that has really helped me, and I still do it, is to play along with a CD and/or a metronome.

For example, I'll take a song I really like and play along with it as best I can. I always keep my guitar just a bit louder than the guitar on the CD so I can hear where I need to correct myself and improve. Then, I play the same song without the music and using a metronome.

Playing with the CD gives me the framework, if you will, and the understanding of the melody, timing etc... Then playing with the metronome gives me the experience of doing it on my own which is where the true help is, because it builds the confidence and accuracy in doing the song right.

I can't tell you how much it's helped me with rhythm over the years.

Hope this helps!
