Hi Art,

We are continuing with our MTP work for August which is final month for MTP. Please check out your assignments bellow.

Assignment 1:

- Write out article on subject of Arranging techniques

- Feel free to discuss 3, 4 or 5 part writing or things such as reharmonization of already existed harmony (sky is the limit).
- Make sure that article fits the rules from previous month.

Assignment 2:

- Write out article on subject of Orchecstration and Instrument ranges

- Here you can discus of why instruments are notated (concert vs written pitch) and perhaps cover most common orchestration settings for Jazz music (for example).
- Again, make sure that article follows the rules from previous month.

Assignment 3:

-Write out article on subject of either Arranging or Orchestration specific techniques!

- Here you can tackle very specific technique (like arranging using drop 2 voicing and instrument combination such as trumpet, alto tenor bari saxes + trombone).
- Do your best to provide MP3 or Guitar pro(PDF is also acceptable) of actual arranging/orchestration example.

Assignment 4:

- REC Lesson of your choice!!!

Deadline for all assignments is 30th of August - no later than that date!!!

Let me know if you got any questions and I look forward to your work!

Pedja

Hi Pedja,
thanks for the assignments. It's helpful to see all of the assignments up front - I can plan them a bit more now.
I just want to confirm what you mean by the "rules" of the previous month. One A4 page in font size 12? For the topics you've listed, I doubt that a page will cover very much at all and I'd like to give the topics covers some justice, even if I do only mention one or two examples.
Also, how were the other articles for you? Is there anything you'd like me to focus on more, or perhaps something I missed?

Hi Art,

Thanks a lot for this message man. Yes I liked previous articles and nothing was wrong with them.
The reason why I restricted it to 1 A4 page is simply I didn't want to put you in too much trouble. If you feel inspired to write 2 -3 pages, go ahead. My primary concern is for you to complete all the assignments and do good work!

Nothing more to add here smile.gif

Just a quick note to say not to worry - the articles are a work in progress and I'll be uploading them all at once when I'm done and happy.

On another note, I thought I'd mention the glorious work of my namesake on the subject of orchestration. Really, he explains better anything that I could
