GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Browsing The Videos

Posted by: Stingray Oct 5 2007, 11:56 PM

Hi @ all,

I just subscribed, really nice at first site. But one thing is getting me nuts:

Everytime I try to watch a video (the "not-free" ones) it asks for my password, over and over and over...
Once I entered the correct password I can see the video. If I continue to the next part of the lesson (same lesson, different video) it asks me again for the pass.

Since I'm an IT administrator,i know it doesn't make sense because htaccess is stored for each session as long as you keep the browser opened :/ I'm on IE7 / Vista btw.

So please help! smile.gif
I really appreciate all your work!

Thanks in advance!

Mine only asks once Stingray. I'm on firefox (and XP) though and have cookies enabled for the site.

Cheers,
Tony

Hi Stingray smile.gif

This is how it works as far as I know, once you use passes for each video in lesson
you're free of typing it again,
as long as your browser is open or your net connection is running in one piece.
Guys,correct me if I'm wrong here mellow.gif

Yes, do you have cookies enabled, at least for GMC? I don't think .htaccess/Digest Security is used, looks like custom JavaScript security to me, Henrik would know for sure.

Hi Stingray and welcome to gmc,

This is a report we haven't heard about before - it should absolutely not be like this.

Do you have the possiblity of trying it with firefox?

Either way I will see if I can get some advice...

Hi again,

thanks @ all for the fast replies! Sorry to confuse you, shouldn't have cried for help that fast sad.gif
I tried it from my laptop at work today. Now I'm at home and from both my Vista PC and Mac all works like a charm...

Maybe I set the default company policy at work for browsing too high... I will exclude my laptop from that policy.

Anyway, I'm really sorry to start with confusing the staff smile.gif
It's really nice to see that everybody here takes care about the others! It's really worth the money biggrin.gif

THX!
