Hello friends!
I have decided to start the Creativity Workout II. This time, the experiment consists of connecting melodic lines over a backing track that I will share here. In other words, this means that we'll be creating a song together! It will be very interesting to listen to melodies we create together by connecting guitar lines and being influenced by each other yet still adding our own style along the way. I think that his experiment will make it a rich learning experience for everybody. Besides the backing track I will also provide a word or phrase that reflects the feeling that we would like to convey while creating the melodies. This will hopefully inspire us to go with our composing ideas even deeper and I’m sure that the results will influence everyone. How this works? 1. I share a backing track and a word which reflects a feeling. 2. The first participant (A) downloads the backing, records a 2 or 4 measures melody or arrangement (or both) over it and uploads an audio with the whole backing and his take. 2. The next participant (B ) downloads participant's (A) file and records a 2 measures melody next to (B )’s take. 3. Participant ( C ) downloads (B )’s file and does the same. 4. We keep building the tune by extending lines and melodic ideas together Some rules and suggestions: - The melodies / arrangement should last 2 or 4 measures and can be created with guitar, vocals or other instruments. - I will give 10 days to play each backing until we discuss the result and start with a new one. - Remember to allow downloads If you use Soundcloud. - Save original files in your computer! We might want to re-mix it later. - Please upload a file that only contains your guitar to let me do experiments. - Don’t be shy. This workout is appropriate for all levels: BEGINNERS, INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED. - Feel free to contact me if you need help with recording, mix down and uploading the files. I will share the first backing on Monday, who is in? This post has been edited by Gabriel Leopardi: Mar 17 2014, 09:03 PM -------------------- My lessons

Hi All. Here's me trying to add on to the Creativity. If it's no good let me know and I'll scrap it. Hey Wavo! That's a very nice addition! It connects perfect with the previous one. You kept the feeling and range, but have a different tone which gives a different color. Well done! This one is starting to get shape! Who continues? -------------------- My lessons

Hey Wavo! A nice addition and now someone can continue it. Hi Gab! If this is too many days without something new, then we have to continue it! How many parts can the same guys add for this one? This is so fun and I also like your backing track feelings! yes! there is no limit regarding how many parts you add! Let's just avoid having two takes from the same player together. The idea is that we make this one fluently to keep the vibe. Hi guys, sorry been out of the loop this couple days my internet router died, so i have to wait to get a new one. [attachment=36343:Gabs_cre...ut_take3.MP3] [attachment=36344:GUitaronly.MP3] Hey Ricky! This is a very nice addition! It's fresh and tasty. It's also very related with the style of the backing track which reminds to brit-pop artists. Thanks a lot for joining! Who's next? -------------------- My lessons
