Man, I was watching some Steve Vai stuff today and im drooling when I see his JEM. At the moment I have a Fender strat and it's cool, I like it.. ^^ But I love these floyd rose wammys, and I'm thinking of getting a JEM perhaps. Ok, the question..: Pavel, Andrew, and everyone that owns a JEM, Is it that great? Why is it so great? Can you use it for more heavy stuffs also? And should I buy one? ^^ huh.gif blink.gif

I would like one, but I haven't seen one for sale in Australia yet. It's so damn expensive to get from America! Perhaps a second handy one off Ebay

It's great for heavy stuff!! I already said it is not abut guitar - it's about your amp and pedals! Chris Impellitteri gets killer metal sound with his Strat on his amp so it a proof guitar has almost nothing to do with heaviness of your sound!

Also guitar player from band "Dominici" plays some crazy drop C tunings on a JEM and his sound is also amazing! smile.gif

Yeh Pavel, good point but you know, single coil... you can't really get that super heavy sound out of it. smile.gif And I also love floyd rose. You can't do all the whammy stuff with a strat, that why I am thinking of getting me a JEM. smile.gif

Jeff Beck proves that you can get real heavy on a strat, and whammy the hell out of it too.

Chris Impellitteri is also a good example of very heavy sound on Strat! But anyway - if you get a JEM you won't regret that! smile.gif

I'm going to see him in October at the Berklee Performance Center in Boston, MA. Can't wait. Sitting nice and close in the orchestra section. Oh yeah!

Just for the Record.

14,000 sweden kronor is Equal to $2,106.43 US Dollars. Which is about what most JEMs cost in the USA.

I saw (and played) on at Allans Music in Melbourne, and while I can see that the Jem is brilliant, I'm not so sure it's $4300 worth of brilliance... sad.gif
