GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ How Do We Create Practice Journals?

Posted by: A.C. Dega Dec 14 2009, 02:28 AM

Sup guys, is there an online journal or something to keep track of our own progress? How do we create practice journals?

There's the practice agendas on the top right, you can use them to keep track of your progress and you can reference them later or share them with someone

Thanks Daniel... I've been in there a few times but I can't find where I create one myself... do you know how they do it?

another cool thing you can do is buy a calendar and everynight before you go to bed, you can write in the hours you played and then tally them up each week, then tally each month...it will be cool to see total hours smile.gif

I don't know if I'd want to know... I practice for like 6 hrs a day... I can waste all day and all night just working on one exercise... I'm afraid to see how much time I waste over a month or year for that matter... kinda scary, my girlfriend already hates how long I play for... I'd be scared to give her any concrete evidence of neglect that she could use against me to argue... Some peoples calendars might be embellished by adding hours... mine on the other hand would have to be falsified with hours left out... Ha ha laugh.gif

They have a calendar like that on here but I have no Idea how to set up a Practice agenda up above... that's what I'm trying to find out...

Does anyone know how to use the practice agenda?

How do we set one up? huh.gif

The practice agenda is like a diary really.

You can use it to tell others what you are doing, and for self reference of course.

You just click on the "My practice agenda" link up there, then click on Entries > Add new entry.

You can write text, add pictures etc. and then you can publish the entry. Be careful to choose the publish option, otherwise if you just save it it will be regarded as a draft, and will not show for others to see.

Once in the agenda page, if you click on "Your settings" or "Content Blocks" you'll see lots of options to customize how the agenda looks, and which parts it has. Just go head and play with it smile.gif

Just take a look at other people's agendas here, see how they are using it:

What do you mean "waste"? ohmy.gif It's all for a good cause biggrin.gif

Sorry man, don't know how to set up an agenda, I've looked around and can't find anything.
Fran, I don't see any "My Practice Agenda" link. Maybe it got lost in the new design and only members who already had an agenda can see the link?

Awesome man... I'm glad it isn't just me... Some people must of thought I was an idiot... Yeah this is probably a (BUG) or lost link somewhere, as I have also looked everywhere.

I recommend a notebook as well, because you can use it anywhere.

Here's where the link is for me, just in case. I'm using IE7

Posted by: Daniel Realpe Dec 15 2009, 10:40 PM

maybe send a message to Kris as to how to set up your own?

Noteworthy here is that the practice agenda is not currently working with IE 8, since when You are adding a new post, the stylesheets goes just nuts...... (at least here, it works in Firefox and Safari... though) Still the same with the comments in the lessons, they dont show at all in IE 8.
