Take 4: Time To Gallop, Lesson By Ben Higgins |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi J,
This lesson is getting close but it still has timing issues. The galloping is not consistent yet and there are two main things to work on: - timing - dynamics About timing, it's the gallop pattern which isn't sounding clear yet. You tend to play the pattern a bit "hurried", "faster". A good practice would be to play galloping over a drum loop on one open string, just to focus on the rhythm. This is also a good exercise to train the other element to improve here that it's dynamics. If you check your right hand movement and compare it with Ben's you'll notice that he accentuates the upstrokes played on the beat. This will give the gallop a clearer accent and overall sound. That's all by now, keep on the hard work! -------------------- My lessons
